why sweetface tho? sounds so cheezy and boring..

darling, we are talking about the woman that starred in Gigli, sang the lyrics-
"I'm real, even on Oprah", whose *** was rated hotter than her on Vh1, who changes her name according to the title of her next album (jennifer lopez, J. Lo, Jenny, Jen), and was 1/2 of Bennifer.

honestly, did you expect anything less than cheezy and boring?

All the models look like clones of JLo herself, some credit is due for attempting to create some sort of collection. I seriously hope this will not be the begining of celebrities showing during fashion week(NY), maybe we should start a partition to stop this madness:lol:

What should do young designers in this situation? I f music stars become designers a young talents don't have chance to sell their clothes.

I don't like her music and don't like her collection.

fyi-i saw aninterview on tv...she said sweetface is a nickname one of her agents used to call her...

SHE is sweetface...blech!!!...

mdankwah....i think you mean a petition...
but a partition to keep them separate is a good idea as well...LOL...

I vote for sending all the celebrities to where they belong - the zoo.

^Sorry about the mistake, all the same I'm keeping my fingers crossed I don't see Beyonce or Eve anywhere near a fashion week

lol.. remembering Mariah said the same thing when people asked her why her album was called "The Emancipation of Mimi".. she said everyone called her Mimi... Mariah, Mimi, Mariah, Mimi.. i don't know where that came from..:innocent:

Sweetface, don't know where that came from either..:ninja:

I am confused, people in Japan and Europe won't buy this stuff right? RIGHT???

Maybe she had her face covered in whipped cream when he first met her... :innocent:

has anyone else noticed that she is kind of ripping off stella mccartney's fw 2004 show??

i blame stella mccartney for it all. she started this whole ball rolling. who doesn't look at stella mccartney and think, "i could do that."

Also, so many people were hating her collection before they even saw it. How is this objective? Indeed, she's worn some cheesy outfits...but I seem to remember other celebrities, and yes designers wearing and producing some notable fashion mistakes...and they were not ghetto. Jennifer Lopez is a smart business woman, her fashion is not about high concepts, it is about finding one more product to sell to the demographic that is buying her music and paying to see her films. Can we really expect her line to include looks inspired by chanel, or yamamoto, or lanvin for example? Her fans dont want to dress like that, and the people who do want to dress like that are probably not interested in Lopez' product (fashion, film, nor music). They are two totally different markets. This is business folks.

Well said. There seems to be quite a bit of knee-jerk reaction in this post. Yes, the fashion is by no means revolutionary but what else did you expect? It's no Rochas but I will admit that it is better than most celebrity vanity fashion projects (and I could do without the gratuitous use of fur & ruffles).

Day of show- page six
JENNIFER Lopez just delivered a diss to DNA Models. An insider tattles that J.Lo's lackeys had a falling-out with DNA this week that resulted in the agency's models being replaced with ones from rival shop IMG at tonight's premiere of Lopez's Sweetface line.
"DNA wanted too much money," said our source. A rep for the agency could not be reached for comment.
Carmen Kass and Naomi Campbell are expected to strut the runway tonight along with a slew of lesser-known beauties

On another note, I don't care for JLo and all the over the top, trashy, blahblah- but I also can't really hold a grudge against her for any of her success. I understand one side of the JLo dislike, the other side of it worries me a bit.

like purechris said this heralds the death of fashion. This just makes me sad....its so cynnical & contrived & its an insult to all the talented people out there who struggle for recognition.

And I heard she also got a standing ovation...... Oh dear.... Someone pass me a kleenex.
Oh, god... :yuk:  :throwing up smilie:

I don't think it is going work out for her, in the fashion biz.
