Nudity? It's terrifying, says Jerry Hall as the new Calendar Girls prepare to bare all on stage
24th July 2009
Jerry Hall is 'terrified'. June Brown thinks it's 'horrific' and Anita Dobson is trying not to think about it. There are just a few more rehearsals before the new cast of the West End play Calendar Girls take over on Tuesday. And they are still trying to come to terms with going naked nightly in front of nearly 1,000 people, with just a few cakes, buns and music sheets to cover their modesty.
'Nudity is always terrifying, even now,' drawls Jerry, who also stripped off as the insatiable Mrs Robinson in the stage show of The Graduate, nine years ago. 'And yes, I have to admit I've been trying to eat less. I've been doing yoga classes with some girls in Richmond and eating lots of salads. The nudity scene is brilliantly comic - I was roaring with laughter when I saw it - but I'm worried about whether the buns are going to cover my breasts.'
