Jil Sander F/W 2020.21 Milan

I much prefer their menswear offering. The collection they did at Pitti this year was amazing, but this is quite good too.

Good! It’s a little bit more coquettish, more upbeat, more urban! For me, that’s Jil Sander...It’s more important to get the philosophy of the brand than just doing clothes for the sake of it!
Than being said, despite how good it is, I see too much Philo-ism there.

When you do Jil Sander and have access to the archives, you don’t need to copy recent fashion...A copy of Celine will never be as exciting as an interpretation of Jil. They are on the right path...

I remember the loungewear fest of their earlier collections!

Yeah, but Jil Sander walked so Phoebe Philo could run.

I hate to repeat the same thing every time but...it would be a good collection in its own right, without the JS label on.

They get one side of the brand, but not the precision, the control, the raw, ****-ish sensuality Jil expressed at her best, in the late nineties.
This looks way too relaxed and sloppy compared to Jil's standard.

True but at the same time, Phoebe’s minimalism was a mixture of many things. It wasn’t even minimalism when you think about it. I mean, Jil was minimalist!
She had all her influences mixed from Margiela to Beene, from Lang to even stuff from her Chloe days...

It’s a pity that today, when people does minimalism, they go back to Celine from 5 years ago. Come on now!

I think they needs to trust themselves more.

this is serenely elegant and chic; minus a few stiff pieces, this entire collection looks so easy ... to wear.

praise be, no gimmicks. :crush:

I quite enjoy this actually. While I don't think it's very Jil but it has an ease to it. Always like the way Phoebe designs her clothes. The models look effortless chic, elegant yet not overstyled.

Flawless collection from start to finish. *chief's kiss*

I don't get the hoopla around this collection. It looks like Proenza Schouler on a boring day. The lengths, volume, and proportions couldn't be any further from Jil Sander. The best look is the wool cloak with the wraparound collar and only because it's reminiscent of Raf Simons.
