god i'm so sick of balmain-esque spangly 80s party dresses. does everyone spend 100% of their time in a party dress these days?

yuck, i totally agree. and this looks some of the pieces look so poorly executed, like a student collection.

it's something to wonder about the NYFW collections up to date
the designers seem to be after perhaps, special pieces that you wear only to special events, one occasion etc.. as opposed to designing a wardrobe for everyday life

some people might argue buying basics cheaply and then splurging a bit on a designer dress

^ i see the logic.

but i often want a really nicely cut and distinguished (in the sense that it doesn't just look like zara, etc.) jacket, or slacks, or a feel-good skirt that i can move in. but even though i go out lots for my work, it's often a day-to-night look, not putting on a spangly sequins mini-skirt look. that doesn't even look good here at jill stuart.

she always had feminine delicate basics with a finely-made edge. now it just looks scrappy.

I think its a great collection. Its sooooo hard to be original these days
Everyone seems to to take their inspiration from someone else. Who can help it?
I think its better than the S.O.S (same old ****) that Herve Leger has going every year.
If she takes her inspiration from Balmain, so what? She put her own spin on it
