Oh naur! White Lotus is mostly Australian designers:He was able to keep up the Loewe buzz with kooky meme-worthy designs. But the best sellers were the puzzle bag, the logo'd white tanks, denim with the knee logos, logo'd basket bags and the inflated sunglasses. Sure there were viral moments with balloon shoes but what got the brand to a billion were those products.
If anything, his greatest contribution was vacay-wear for rich people (mostly status-seeking Karens) that want to look artsy/cultured. See White Lotus.
The Assemblée Générale happened today. So he probably announced it to have them set on the situation at Dior and Loewe. And as the entire family is generally there, he didn’t spoke as « randomly ».Such an underwhelming announcement. Bernard only confirmed it because a shareholder asked him during a meeting? lol
They have ingenuity, yes, and they don’t rely on handbags BUT Yohji and Rei have a myriad of diffusions as their money makers.yes, except for a very small minority; specifically, the japanese masters like yohji and rei, who built their successes off of pure ingenuity in fashion design. the same could be said for others like theyskens and galliano. although, in their case, i suppose both are technically no longer working at the moment? or at the very least only show sporadically.
for legal reasons randomness can be orchestrated easily :-)I love how « random » the announcement was. I mean, it’s the worst kept secret of the industry and the man has been working there already.
They did not bother doing a press release probably because they are waiting for MCG to leave in order to properly appoint him as the global creative director of Dior (or whatever terms they will find to name it).
I wonder if he has done his official portrait yet.
you will cry soon than :-)So glad that MGC is going nowhere! Yasss!
Buy all the saddle bags while you can otherwise it will be puzzle mess! Haha!
And you’re very very right… but can’t disclose kore that this 🫢🤭🫣🤭🫢I’m starting to think there’s something troublesome going on with MGC’s departure/Jonathan’s arrival that is hampering the proper announcements. This is so unlike LMHV to just throw what would be their biggest news of the year so casually in a shareholder meeting.
I know that from the curtains guy I won’t be buying anything!you will cry soon than :-)
