Jonathan Anderson - Designer, Creative Director of JW Anderson & Christian Dior

These red carpet avant garde looks are giving...Nicholas Ghesquiere attempts at making LV red carpet relevant: overdesigned, overthought, overstyled.
Now don't tell me these looks like JWA Dior LOL, the only difference between the two is that NG loves sharp edges while JWA likes them smooth and rounded LOL

Imagine being an actress that finally secures a contract with a major label, where you think you've achieved a level of visibility and financial success, only to have your red carpet legacy become photos that never go away of you wearing a series of testicular ballgowns or something that looks like a disposable paper lantern.

that's why many of them looked so sad

I was under the impression the poor helpless creatures would have access to options? Maybe even a personal stylist to veto the most ridiculous propositions?

Maybe we should start a petition to get these unfortunate souls a protection order against select houses so they couldn't embarrass them further. 🤔

Maybe JW needs Patrick as the head of Couture and Redcarpet.
Those dresses needs editing. Unnecessary over-design.
I’m glad you said it. The one Mia has on… unnecessary is the perfect word. The design doesn’t justify itself, visually. A complicated design should still have you/your eyes intuitively ‘get’ the whole. There must be a balance between creativity and sense.

Some of these looks are awful ! I am so far very disappointed with JWA at Dior. This is not what I expected ... nowhere near it. I know it is red carpet dressing, but still ! Even Natalie Portman's dress is close to being good, but it's just off. Don't get me started on those Ghesquière looks for Louis Vuitton.

What even is this era of fashion that we are in ? Why is it so hard or even looked down upon to create something that is beautiful and for a woman ?

The only difference is that NG can totally experiment on the Redcarpet as very few dresses actually make it into production. It’s sharp, fully executed in it weirdness.

The general concern over JWA has less to do with the designs themselves but the perspective of Haute Couture in January…
