For me the fact that it could be preppy is not so much the issue. Hedi’s last collection for Celine was, Michael Rider at Celine is also mostly that.
But it does feel fashion in those versions. Here the pieces aren’t exceptional on their own and surely not together.

I’m sorry but the look does really give « Congrès des Républicains à La Baule » (French political party). Nothing against them but as a fashionable look, it’s really not exciting…

That bodice…Ouch!
I’m unsure by the fabric! Is it Panne de Velours or Jacquard de soie or something else?
It needed a small belt from the same color as the dress and no flowers embroideries.

I’m just praying at this point that none of the Redcarpet looks we have seen so far is indicative of what we will see in one month for Couture.

Don't forget the rugby shirts, generally not the most flattering garment on any woman, unless you're waifish and delicate, in which case, you could wear anything from the wide world of fashion and look great in it, so why opt for an overpriced rugby shirt that's not going to do that much for you?

There might be someone reading this who'd say fashion doesn't have to be flattering and that's true - but does any designer have the ability to translate a woman's rugby shirt into a piece of wearable art? Saying that, I don't think I even want to see it attempted.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: they need to reconsider both the sheer number and the quality of their brand ambassadors. Maybe don't dress half of the celebrity world in mediocrity. Instead, focus on a small number of exceptionally designed and well-executed looks for a few truly standout individuals. Rethink the whole strategy...

Do people really care about seeing Anya Taylor-Joy, someone who, in my opinion, is a rather mediocre actress without a particularly strong personal sense of style, in yet another Dior misfire? At this point, she feels more recognizable as a Dior ambassador than as a serious actress. Beyond the financial incentive, I don't see how this benefits either party… especially when the results are so lackluster.

Dior is a rather relentless PR machine, and I suspect JWA may already be realizing that this supposed step-up in his career isn’t quite as rewarding as it might have seemed, including a level of critique he has hardly ever received at his Loewe.

I saw pics of Mathilde Favier in the new Dior and she looked chic.
When you dress for yourself, it always makes a difference…
Ah non Lola, she is totally cringe and gives massive narcissist energy. Just take a look at her book for goodness sake! Talk about self obsessed! For me this kind of energy is the opposite of chic. If someone is that self-promoting on social media, for me it puts me right off.

They need some new perspectives at Dior, not these dinosaurs all the time with the same strategy and vision all the time. All this talk of a “fashion reset” but no real change beyond the design team, what’s the point? If we are really in the era of modernity and newness then all of these boomers need to go and we need fresh new voices and perspectives.
