Julian Casablancas

I really enjoyed reading that article, The Strokes have such a special place in my heart *cheesy*

Anyone wanna go to LA?
He's playing like, this whole month.
I know I'm ALWAYS up for LA...:woot:

How is it????:woot::woot::woot:

I've only listened to the album a couple of times through, but I really like it so far. Left & Right in the Dark & Glass are my favorite presently. The only song I really can't get into is Ludlow Street, I give him credit for trying to do something unique & different but it's a little too country sounding for me.

By the way, he has a twitter: http://twitter.com/Casablancas_J (confirmed by his website)

My favourites off the album currently are Left & Right In The Dark and 4 Chords Of The Apocalypse.
The only one at the moment I can't really get into is River Of Brakelights.

Oh and his twitter is one of those "run by management" things.
Damn.

I really like it...different from what I expected, but still good. My favorites are Glass and 4 Chords Of The Apocalypse. :crush:

Strokes' Julian Casablancas preparing 'Pink Floyd laser show' for UK gigs
Frontman reveals ambitious set-up for live shows
The Strokes' Julian Casablancas has revealed that he is planning a "Pink Floyd laser light show" for his forthcoming debut UK gigs next month.

The frontman is set to play his first solo shows on UK soil soon, and has told Pitchfork.com that he has some rather ambitious plans for the gigs.

"It could be a Stonehenge disaster but I'm going for it," he explained. "There are going to be changing sets. It's like half normal and half Pink Floyd laser light show.

"It's not going to be interactive; I'm not going to start juggling. And if it's a disaster I will say, 'Kidding around!' and then we'll just do normal shows."

Julian Casablancas will play:

Manchester Ritz (December 11)
Glasgow ABC (12)
Dublin Academy (14)
London Forum (15, 16)

To check the availability of Julian Casablancas tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.

Casablancas has also announced he is to release a Christmas single, telling NME.COM that the track – 'I Wish It Was Christmas Today' – was "a fun thing to do".

The NME Chart Top 40 Revealed - 9th November 2009
We're into week two of the national NME Chart, and there's a fair few movers and shakers. Calvin Harris shoots from third place to the top spot, while Julian Casablancas debuts at 16 with '11th Dimension' and Death Cab For Cutie are the highest new entry at 15 with 'Meet Me On The Equinox'. It's not such a good week for Miike Snow, who see both their tracks drop down the chart. Check out the full list below.
And as a quick reminder, the NME Chart is compiled of tracks from the NME Radio and NME TV playlists, and from NME magazine. Those are sent to the Official Charts Company who rank them in sales order according to physical and download sales. You can hear the chart revealed live on NME Radio every Monday morning from 10am to midday, see the full rundown here on NME.COM every Monday at high noon, and watch the videos on NME TV on Sky Channel 382 tomorrow and Wednesday at 9am and 6pm. Let us know who you think should be top...
