Juno - the movie

I thought it was pretty cute.. I think they could have taken out some of the cutesy hipster stuff, because the scenes I liked best were the ones with her and Jennifer Garner. I have not been a fan of Jennifer's, but I thought she was pretty good in this.

i loved it! Ellen page was absolutely amazing. The movie critic from the boston globe had it right when he described her as a "slacker audrey hepburn"... even though she plays a young girl in the movie, something about her so lovely and elegant. I've had the soundtrack stuck in my head for the past week!

one of my favorite quotes from the movie:
Juno: When I see them all running like that, with their pork swords bouncing around in their shorts, I always picture them naked, even if I don't want to. All I see is pork swords
:rofl::rofl:

I'm not gonna lie, the first lines were awful, waaay too hip.

But after that, when the hipster 'honest to blog' part was over, it became everything a movie should be; it was endearing, and induced a variety of feelings. I loved it. :flower:

yeah, the beginning dialog was ****... gilmore girls/garden state/zach braff doucheyness. ...but it got better. it's still overhyped but i didn't hate it nearly as much as i have it in for Garden State. also the music isn't awful stupid hipster crap... belle&seb, mott & the hooples/david bowie, velvet underground, kimya dawson? not awful on their own...and they didn't take too much space in the film. and even if the soundtrack is trying too hard it goes with characters who ARE trying too hard.

for ppl who hate tryin too hard hipster b.s. -- go hate on Garden State. worst movie of the 00s that i've seen. haha.

and
Saved! > Juno

Oooh I agree, I absolutely hated Garden State :yuk:.

But Juno! I thought Juno was excellent. It was very sweet and touching, and none of the acting was over done... everything seemed so effortless. Although I would have enjoyed more of Michael Cera...but I think the whole point was to showcase Ellen Page, which they did very well!

And Jennifer Garner was better in this movie than she has ever been in her entire career!

If we're going to talk about pretentious movies, I'm gonna throw out Donnie Darko- I'm sorry, I just didn't get it.

^I looked up Donnie Darko on Wikipedia and i still don't understand it  quite overrated. Garden State was a cliche

Anyway i loved this movie. Like mentioned above i thought at the start i was going to get a headache from all the witty one liners. But i almost cried in the sad bits. Some very funny bits too

I liked it .. i loved the cute cartoony song bits .. and ellen page is way too cute :flower: shes such a good actoress imo

I saw this tonight and loved it.....Movies that make me laugh as much as this one did gets a high rating from me. There were sad parts too but it all jelled together to make great entertainment.

I saw this last week and loved it. Words can't express my love for Juno. Ellen Page is magnetic, graceful, effortless and hilarious.

I hope she wins that Oscar! :woot:

Just watched this movie last night...I totally love this movie! And Ellen Page is a Best Actress nominee at the Oscars! That's amazing! Nominated for Best Picture, too!
