Junya Watanabe F/W 2019.20 Paris

This is Junya?? Is unrecognizable! Looks like a japanese Vetêments wannabe!

Watanabe has been around and doing this sort of stuff much longer than Vetements. It's more like Vetements....trying to be like JW.

Same can be said about Haider Ackerman.....trying to be like Comme Des Garcons or like Dries Van Noten.....especially in regards to the men wearing Ackerman's coats and jackets. All the embroidery work is classic Dries.....and the splicing detail....where only the bottom half of the jackets has a pattern....is typical old skool Comme Des Garcons from 1994.

This JW collection....looks more inspired by old skool Martin Margiela. Patterned dresses....where both half's don't match...both half's are uneven.....cardigan sweaters where both half's don't match....etc etc. This collection is a lot more stylized than old skool Margiela.....but the same ideas are here.

I can´t remember this kind of print deconstruction at Watanabe...I´m trying to think about his 90s collections...but I´m in a blank here!
