... but I'll pass on the rest, it does a grand total of nothing on me. I think I've learned to predict his movements and after a collection like F/W 2023 I kind of knew we'd get something like this, a bit more dreamy and experimental and I'll always prefer.. not the ultra punk opposite extreme but somewhere close, when he starts crashing down (lol) and delivers these more intense, aggressive, highly functional and elegant collections like last season.

I'm not going to deny that I'm bored of the whole over advant gardeness of the Comme des garcons universe.
It also honestly feels like they know they'll be praised anyway, so they just go haywire with their designs.
I believe however, that there is an element of originality to the work, but also some very formulaic "this is going to shock" designs.

Pretty good. Some absolutely ravishing shapes at the beginning. The cutout pieces towards the middle were too busy to really appreciate.
the best look is the sheer jacket with oversized funnel neck. Gorgeous. The box seaming on the biker jacket is also incredible.
The denim section was a mixed bag but mostly great. Sometimes felt like filler and the finale pieces were definitely filler. The knit pieces in particular.

The last black jacket and the one in look 37 are swoon worthy!
Rest is a little too "fashion as object/abstract" but it's done so well all I can do is appreciate how much of a technical marvel it all is. This, alongside Rei, are the kind of things lecturers and fashion "intellects" froth over for its visual and psychoanalytical pretexts, but honestly for me its the construction of it all I care about. And that's why it works well here. Not some student avant-garde ridden drivel.
