I am so miserable right now. I am in a friends wedding and she is insisting we all wear the same hideous black satin closed toe pumps! You'd think she would pay for them right? NOPE! I just had to lay out $150 (so annoying when I'll never wear them again) on shoes that make me cringe!

The best part is we are wearing black ball gowns (to the floor) so you won't even see the shoes!! I pleaded to be able to wear a cute peep hole pump.. but no dice...

Can you say BRIDEZILLA?!?!

Oh God you poor girl!! Don't worry at least you won't be the only one in those! It sucks you had to pay yourself for them :(( If you're not married, don't worry you'll have your revenge when you pick out your own amazing wedding dress! Good luck with the bridezilla  :)

I just feel that it's incredibly rude of the bride to dictate a look and expect people to actually pay for something they don't like! It would be reasonable to simply ask for dressy black heels...

You poor poor girl! if I were you I'd have quit. Some brides can get a little nazi-ish. My cousin (Lord love her) wanted me to pay for & wear this hideous mint green dress "custom made" dress by some blind dressmaker for her wedding but it was simply impossible as it was badly fitted and f*ckin ugly. In the first place when she asked me she said we could wear anything we liked as long as it wasn't too jarring then she changed her mind a few weeks later. I put my foot down and in the end we compromised and I ended up wearing my own ice blue 20s dress. I mean I get that it's your big day but you do not dictate what other people wear especially if it's butt-ugly. Hell no. At my own wedding the bridesmaids can wear whatever the hell they want as long as it's not black or the same color as my dress. :innocent:

This is standard bridezilla practice ;) Anyone want a pair of emerald green raw silk size 8? :D

That is really annoying. In my wedding all the dresses did not match, 1920's dresses off ebay under $100 each. The shoes were $50, but I ended up paying for one bridesmaid's shoes since she never paid me back. I felt bad to even have them have to put out that much money! They didn't mind though because their dresses were both beautiful silk heirlooms!

I hope to never have to be in a cookie cutter wedding. I like the idea of BM's picking a range of dresses in the same color and/or length, but to their own choice.

Lol A blind dressmaker huh? Well good for you for putting your foot down. And yeah why would she want her bridesmaids to be dressed all black!? It's just all illogical.. and KimberlyAnn did say she pleaded with her and she didn't budge now that's just mean!

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to rhiannonmars again. Damn.

Amen to that! Your wedding must've been lovely. :)

Thank you all so much for the sympathy!!

I swear I will be the happiest person on Oct. 2nd (wedding is Oct. 1st)!!

I was complaining to a co-worker and she actually had it worse than me.. Below is an email one of her "friend" send to her bridesmaids... ENJOY!

I'll wear my ugly shoes and keep my mouth shut... it could always be worse!! :D

Ladies! It's almost time! I just wanted to lay out the events for the 12th and 13th.

corner from Tiff...here is the schedule of appts

Please be there on time as there is another event at the church at

8pm and they want us out. The rehearsal was 5pm but has been moved to

accommodate the working folk and also so we can eat a little later : )

shortly.

If you do not have a hair or makeup appt:

Please be showered and at my mom's house by 11:30AM!

You can do your hair at my mom's (I have plenty of hair tools) if you

wish or you can just do touch ups when you get here.

Please be here when I ask, I want everyone to be together for lunch....for

me. This is non negotiable. : )

11:30-1 Lunch and cocktails

My mom will be having some small sandwiches and stuff for lunch (catered)

so that we can have a little something before the ceremony. Maybe we can

have some Momosa's to take off the nervous edge.

1pm-2 Final Makeup/hair touch ups

2pm Photographer will be at the house for photos

3:45 Leave for the church

Other notes:

This is just a friendly reminder.....my mom has already warned Chris,

Mike, Dave and myself that this is a wedding and that we want to enjoy

ourselves. But, there will be plenty of alcohol, and I urge you to

know your own limits and take it easy. It's a long day and there is no

need to pound beers, shots, etc. I DO NOT want any drama. To quote

Elaine (read this with a NY accent ) "I swear to God, if one single

person embarrasses me, I will never speak to them again" and believe me,

she is serious.

Also....this is my wedding (a once in a lifetime event) and no one from

the bridal party is leaving early, you come for the party and stay for

the party....you are all a part of my bridal party....it goes from

7-12....there will be shuttles if you are staying at the hotel, if you

have someone picking you up, tell them up-front 12:00......I am not

going to answer the question, "Where is Bob (fictional name)?" at 10:30

at night...because someone from the bridal/groomsmen party left....you

are all in blue dresses and are easy to spot and count : ) We are

going to have fun and there is no reason to leave.

I realize it's hard for everyone (especially girls) to get along all the

time, but for the 12th and 13th, make it happen.....these days are for

Chris and I and we want it to be enjoyful. Do not stress me out on my

wedding day : )

Juliet you have no idea... I'm 26 and I've known this girl since I was 10! She knows I don't do ugly shoes.... She kept saying, "i don't want toes showing!" I've been in plenty of weddings and never seen a photographer take pictures of anyone's feet!!!!

I might just show up in these bad boys to add a little "kick" :D If she checks my shoes she's a real nut job!

*Gasp* Since you were ten!? My best girlfriend Natalie is like that but if you're so close it makes it even worse that she's not compromising!! Heehee I hope u will wear those instead of the ugly pumps she wants u to wear, as u said noone's gonna photograph ur feet :innocent: but i gotta say, judging from her stubborness I think she is mad enough to check if you have her choice of shoes on!

lol, trust me.. I was shocked myself. This entire wedding has turned her into a lunatic!! It's so scary when people change like that. I swear that'll NEVER be me!

I hope she checks... what's she gonna do at that stage in the game....

^^ so you're gonna do it?? Sweet! :D Let me know what happens!

Can you return the ugly shoes after the wedding? if not, you should sell them. if you have only worn them once, you should get a good price

and have fun at the wedding...

Can't believe she made you shell out the cash for an hour affair...

That's awful. If I was the bride, i'd pay for their gowns, shoes and hair-do's.
it's bad enough she's going to make you look ******** and gawdy.. but to have you fork it out..at least 50% should suffice ? how sad..
