Keeping Moss
17 December 2008, 12:39PM
GOOD news for the stylistas who strip the rails bare each time a new Kate Moss for Topshop collection lands in-store: so successful has the collaboration between the two fashion powerhouses proved that Moss' design contract has been extended for a further three years.
Since its launch (to both press and public hysteria) on May 1 last year, eight seasonal collections of the exclusive line - which is based on Moss' own personal style - have been released, with the pieces worn by Moss herself invariably becoming instant sell-outs.
It launched in twenty two countries worldwide and has subsequently become available in Australia, Europe and the United States, via TOPSHOP.COM; it will launch in the US proper as of March next year, when the brand opens its first flagship store in the country, in New York.
"The last two years have been an exciting experience, and Topshop has given me the perfect platform to develop my own collection, which is something that I have wanted to do for a long time," says the supermodel on her renewed contract. "I am really looking forward to working with the Topshop team on our new collections and thank everybody who already owns a piece of Kate Moss for Topshop!"
Among the "new collections" will be debut accessories and lingerie ranges.
Adds Topshop boss Sir Phillip Green: "I believe this has been a great partnership for both Topshop and Kate. Having had two years' experience, I am confident that Kate's collection now has the potential to become a significant global brand within Topshop."

Yep, I saw that too and it really didn't surprise me. The designers get their ideas from Kate's own clothes and Kate just gives it the green light.well thats what i saw on tv (British Style Genius on BBC)...the Topshop design team designs the stuff, then show her and she gives it the thumbs up....in very rare cases she comes up with an idea on her own...
