I think it was pretty obvious (or maybe it's not so obvious to all those people who watched that E special and believed they loved each other) that this relationship/wedding had to be a sham. However what I think is vile about this whole situation is how much money Kim and Kris got for their relationship. Clearly we live in trying times when people can earn loads of money on a wedding and then divorce months later. When if you think about it, all that money which was spent on the wedding (and will now be spent on the divorce), could easily gone to supporting a charity organization or whatnot. It's just sickening that people can create elaborate stunts like this and then be rewarded with even more fame and wealth.

many people call her greedy and famous for nothing but no one forces them to watch her show, buy people magazine or watch the E special with her wedding. Its the fact that people are interested in her personal life that makes these corporations pay her these huge ammounts of money to pull these stunts. If you dont agree with what she is doing simply dont watch, personally i believe she is a smart business woman. People have married for much worse and no one has even batted an eyelash...

There's absolutely no lows this family won't go to for attention. They are symbolic of everything that is wrong with so called 'celebrity' today. I can contend with them so long as they stay within the confines of trash mags and reality television and its there for people who wish to seek them out, but I find it extremely offensive when I find this 'news' story as part of my mainstream evening news.

The question isn't 'who the hell are they?' the question is 'WHY the hell are they?'

Kim Kardashian Divorce: E! Caught by Surprise, Holding Emergency Meetings

Kris Humphries reportedly found out from the media that Kim Kardashian, his wife of only 72 days, is divorcing him. But, he wasn’t the only ones close to the star who were taken by surprise by the news. E!, the cable channel that has aired several seasons of the myriad of reality shows starring Kim and her family seemed to have been taken by surprise, as well.

Even the shows’ executive producer, Ryan Seacrest, didn’t have the full story this morning when the news broke -- though he was one of the first to confirm it. And now an E! spokesperson tells The Hollywood Reporter that network producers and executives are meeting today to discuss how to proceed as a result of the news.

Several topics are up for discussion. Both Kim and Kourtney Take New York and Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami have wrapped on shooting on their upcoming seasons. The New York series is set to premiere on Nov. 27.

Yet, Kim is on her way out of the country as part of her and her sisters’ work with Sears. And as of now, E!’s cameras aren’t joining them to capture the fallout of Kim’s divorce filing nor are there any plans to shoot more footage for those series.

A source tells THR that the New York show has filmed a scene in which the couple decides to “take a break.” Monday’s news instantly makes that ending dated. On top of that, rumors of the impending split have been building over the last week. And reportedly, Humphries stormed off during shooting and asked for a higher salary.

Additionally, the two-part wedding special that initially attracted more than 8 million viewers to its original airing in early October is scheduled to rerun Monday and Tuesday. An E! spokesperson tells THR that the meeting will include discussions on whether to continue re-airing the wedding specials.

Kardashian confirmed the news of her divorce on Monday morning. E! released a statement expressing both shock and support for the couple and the family.

"All of us at E! are surprised and saddened by this news," it states. "And we send our support to Kim and Kris at this difficult time."

"The Kardashians have always been uniquely open with all aspects of their lives from joyous events to intimate moments to heartbreaking transitions. E! will continue to share the fascinating real lives and larger-than-life existence of this close-knit family."

Someone said this in the comments - ''Maybe it's is time for their 15 mins to be up''.

I have a feeling they are right and this whole thing is going bite Kim in the butt.

so they decided to take a break?? from what? they barely spent any time together to begin with.

if this marriage was indeed for real, then it has to be the fact that they have different goals. and also the age difference.
it is my belief that kim needs to be with an older man but she keeps going for these 20 something guys who still want to have fun and pick up women.
but i do think that fame and money are more important for her than ever lasting love and working to make your marriage succeed.

everyone says kris hated her family, but i really think kris hated KIM.

I don't watch her show or buy any products with her face on it, but STILL I feel like this family is forced in my face, everytime I click on People or US weekly...looking for news stories on other celebs...5 stories about this Media hungry family, and they will do anything to get PR, so it's hard to escape them if you want to look on blogs or other entertainment news shows...now people will talk endlessly about this sham marriage/divorce...part of the reason they are so much in the press is because they constantly pull PR stunts to make people interested in them, they could go away quietly if they really wanted too.

It's not like they were living in a cave and the media violated the poor,private family...but they better bank their loot, because eventually people will get sick of them, they can't retire at 65 with this famehoing job...it will end soon..IMO.

If she is smartbusiness woman, then so is everyone chick that used a sex tape for fame & Fortune....like Jenna Jameson.

I don't think divorcing will really put a damper on her so-called career. She's already made millions off the wedding and if she's smart, she'll invest her money wisely so she won't have to do much once her 15 minutes of fame are over.

However, I do think that if Kris (Humphries) goes on to say publicly "Yes, this was all a hoax and Kim and E planned it all", then it will definitely kill her brand. If he decides to spill it all, whether or not he implicates himself, I truly think she will be the one to lose the most. No one will want to give her contracts, the show will ultimately be cancelled and her 15 minutes of fame will definitely be over.

I don't Kris Jenner letting them married without a confidentiality clause. I am sure he will sell his side to make more money but it going to be more like 'sources' close to him.
