Lacoste

They recently opened a Lacoste store downtown! :P I am so happy!

Growing up, I saw almost everybody in my family wearing polos with the croc on it (even my soooooooooo non fashionable uncles and even my grandpa had them!). So I probably grew up thinking they're not that "in".

Anyway, I fell in love with them again just recently when I browsed through the Lacoste store. I got no idea if they really are that trendy because the Lacoste store (the only one we've got in our city) is about to close because the sales are really blah..... and also I don't see much people around with them on. And I am getting the black short sleeved polo ( )!

i'm also getting a black one, but probably also a bright green and some strange shade of pastel grey.. i want at least five of them

(i'm a  mono-maniac > buying 2+ identical items either in one or in diferent colours :ninja: )

I do that too. I buy a couple of the same thing, or buy similar ones again and again. If you find something you like, why not? :flower:

Speaking of the black one, here's Miss Alyssa Sutherland sporting the look. I don't know who the other girl is but it's even cuter on her.

I'm the same way. If I like a particular thing, I buy multiples. So many times I've gone back to buy more to find them sold out. Plus, it's the best way to bargain shop for basics.

I like to wear polo shirts with knee length denim skirts in the summer. Such a perfect combination, just throw on some sandals or flip flops and go. :flower:

i think lacoste has been around and been popular down here for about 2 years now. not so much trendy down here i guess cuz people are pretty preppy down here so it fit right in with there regular wardrobes.

i think girls look hot with the collar flipped up. and it looks cool on some guys.

the crocodile hasn't shrunk. i have an old from my dad and like 5 new ones and the crocodiles are still the same size.

however, i saw in the new GQ i think it was, that Lacoste is coming out with a special edition polo that has the original croc emblem which is HUGE and a lot more detailed than the one now. it looked like it was 3 inches long. i thought it was kinda tacky.

i find ralph lauren polos are to generous fitting and the sleeve is too long.

I have designed shoes for them in the past.

We did do giant crocodiles, but only for famous tennis payers, so they could be seen on TV. The crocodiles on a pair of tennis shoes for a famous player would be huuuuge. About 3 inches long!

I'd like to see a pic of them!
That may inspire me to pick tennis!
:P

Oh Lordy, I did the giant croc shoes in about 1992. We didnt even work on computers then, so they'll be long gone. Sorry!

Hm, I got my first Lacoste when I was 8, so it's like 10 years ago. I still have them, cuz I like 'em very much and have experienced a lot in them. I never thought of them as a trend, cuz I actually grew up in them. Been wearing Polo-shirts my whole life, my first one was a YSL at the tender age of 4. ;)

I used to have to wear lacoste shirt with school uniforms in elementary school :P

here in england, i live in Liverpool. Liverpool has an overload of lacoste. whom you call preppy's we here call "trendies" or "scall's". The trendies or scalls here wear these tracksuits by lacoste that are really just mingin. made of nylon and nearly all of the boys here wear them. A few girls followed but with the girls its died down abit. Its mainly boys that wear them now. I hate them. The jacket and trouser set are always about £100 and come in the most vile shades of red, yellow, green, electric blue.. u name it. As far as i know this fashion isnt popular anywhere else in the UK. It just seems to be that the boys here wont move on from 80's shell suits. I do like most lacoste garments but just not these tracksuits. Ive had enough and the boys here are wearing the same clothes as their friends because they are only made in about 5 different colours and patterns. I will try and find some pictures to post for you peeps. Im not taking any in town... i'l get decked. lol :)

HI SANCHIA :flower:

Don't you think Lacoste tracksuits are JUST the thing to wear to THE TRAFFORD CENTRE !!! :yuk:

ALL the ' townies ' , ' scallys ' , and ' pikys ' , tend to affect them . It's a shame , because the better designed items are good , courtesy of Monsieur Lemaire !

From a fellow northwesterner !!! ;)

KIT :innocent:

ohhh gosh yeah its full of them! the worst is when they decide to pair them with rockports
