Mad for Lad

I got my suit from my friend in Japan last week, and I have to say, I'm quite enamored of this brand. Not only do they have a very comprehensive website, but when I received my suit, I wasn't ready for all the little branded and fabulously designed peripherals that were included, as well as the high quality of the tailoring. I just wanted to share with you guys the little details that made the already fabulously-fitting suit even more fab. And for under $700, I thought this purchase was a bargain!

The tailoring on this suit was incredible. I also forgot to mention that the back vents in the jacket were tacked shut too, and aside from a bit of bunching around the collar (just a bit - I'm thinking it's because I work out a bit more than the average japanese shopper), it was amazing. At first I was a bit miffed that I ordered the twill because I thought it would be heavier and not as prone to wrinkling (the wrinkles you see in the pants and sleeves are due to the fact that I wore it already), but it actually would spring back fairly well with a little steam, and I'm thinking maybe I need to buy the different fabrications of this style (must... hold... back...!)

They also included a show lookbook that was great but ultimately nothing new. I'm kind of in love with Lad's clean lines for this collection, punctuated by forward details that, while trendy, make the items different in a way that's not too obvious - short, 1st-hip length jacket, intentionally looooong sleeves, slim low-rise pants with pockets designed not to interrupt the line. It reminds me of Dior Homme when it first came out, but distilled to a point that the ideas are there, without the brand being all-important, but the clothing makes you look better! I'm trying to hold myself back from purchasing way more than I should! :woot:

^Thanks for the detailed images. I'm very keen on checking out their stuff myself. Will have to wait till my next trip to Tokyo I guess since it's not available here in nyc.

Cool suit bakla, I wish they had bigger sizes than a 46 on their webshop though :(

I don't know if they have any sizes larger than 46 in their stores at all! I got mine through the store, via my friend, so maybe they might stock larger sizes there...

Hi everybody at tfs :flower:

I have been browsing around on this site for some time now and I think it`s a very nice site. Anyway. I was wondering if it is possible to buy Lad Musician clothing somewhere in London? I really like the skinny aesthetic of the clothes because I am very skinny myself.

Sry if the post is very wierd. Im from sweden so

BAKLA, thank you so much
I love details like that...and good design...

Does anyone know how much their t-shirts are?? I seriously really do want one

i ordered the destroy shirt posted earlier. the amount was around $75.00. pretty steep but worth every penny. the cotton is very soft. you wont be happier.

How did you order it, vio? Via the website? I need a translator to get my stuff!

yeah, same with me. i used a translator also. for the past year i have purchased almost all of my clothes from japan via a translator. i dont know how else to get the stuff i like. its a real hassle at times. especially when i got my undercoverism mens non no jeans. it took me four months to get them and its too sizes too small on me. size large = 33 inch waist my a$$! they translated the size incorrectly. its actually a 31 inch waist. oh well, i cant complain too much. my translator is really nice. the purchase was just an indiscretion. they are really helpful and considerate.

/\ t's tough, right? I'm finding I'm more japanese size anyhow, so it's a little easier for me. Fortunately I know an editor who works for Spur, Men's Non-no's sister magazine, and she speaks perfect English, so there isn't much of a translation problem.

thanks for sharing bakla...
glad that worked out for you...

:flower:

Sorry for bringing up this again..

yeah i know - thats what i was looking for - but to no avail unfortunatly but im sure that is my own lazy fault for not bothering to properly checkout the rest of the website.... i just thought it was funny that the rest of the items on that page were not for girls..... and it was quite random to see these amongst them when they are also shaped quite similarly to the mens boots...so kinda thought it was funny:rolleyes: but thats my waked out sense of humour lol

Unfortunately in Japan all the wrong people are wearing LAD already. I saw soooo many strange, unfashionable countryside guys or shibuya vuitton-boys here in Tokyo wearing LM-T-Shirts, who only buy it because of the extreme hype in jap fashion magazines(same with Number (N)ine,N.Hoolywood etc.etc.). So it makes you feel kind of emberassed buying that brand nowadays. It´s a shame because their designs are really good.
