Definitely my favorite this season! I've been kinda tired of beads/artificial jewels/africana-and-paris-chic that Alber had been playing last seasons, and this collection is really a breakthrough in its way of cutting. His dresses are dynamic and elegant in a friendly way..not like ice queen, and I found more businesswomen pieces in it. plus I love flats for the first time haha.
looking at the full collection thumbnails (why thumbnails tho?), i see my points of issue...
cut the leggings section, and those 3 huge, baggy coats in the middle and i'd be much more of a happy camper. out of the leggings section, it's only Anja Rubik's navy dress that appeals to me. it's nice, but very very simple.
i ADORE those pops of color in the middle and those ruffled dresses towards the end are beautiful too...
beautiful collection. i love the way how alber can make every woman yet more feminine. with his clothes . It´s really beautiful. love the fabric and colour palette, very fresh to see shades of pink, red and yellow. and the windy skirts.. are unbelievable.
i just like it, but i don't love it.
i expected something more feminine, like softer colour palette... well, it's spring/summer these colours are just sad, melancholic, it's not something that i would wear in spring.
but there are some pieces that i love, and i'm curious of detail shots... shoes and make-up looks great
I've never been a fan of Lanvin, and never will be , he's not genius at all..IMO sorry. For me, I like collections with a theme... some message, feel the inspiration... etc..
but now Lanvin EVERY SEASON for me is :
BLD
some jumpsuits...
long dark dresses with easy movement...
and some embellishment dresses in the end of the show... that's boring.....
Honestly, this man never fails at creating a collection that is superb and desirable from A to Z. I agree that it feels like a collection of cohesive collections, but those collections are all so great. I love the idea of mixing body-con with shapes that wrinkle away from the body. He is one of the few designers out there that understands his clients so well, plus he understands 'the moment'. That combination makes him nail it everytime.
Would you mind elaborating on that...? I don't quite understand how.
The more I've looked at this collection as a whole, the more I've really loved it. I've not felt that much love for what's come out of Paris this season, so I'm really happy to have liked Lanvin so much. FW10 was a bit too dark and a tad dreary I felt. This feels good. I'm looking forward to seeing it turn up in editorials.
