People will go to incredible lengths to get their hands on the It item of the season—even if that season is next fall. In this case our very own Lauren Santo Domingo was obsessed with getting the latest, right-off-the- runway black thigh high boots. (I call them boot legs because they give you the look of a legging, left).
She shopped around, made phone calls, E-mailed her favorite fashion PR people, but to no avail. So she proceed to create her own. She found a pair of fabulous brown over the knee Brian Atwood boots, had them dyed black at Leather Spa (you must have their number on speed dial if you live in New York, 212-527-9944), added on fourteen inches of leather to cover her legs and had a customized garter belt added for a sexy finishing touch. Now, that is fashion dedication….

she's actually always had loads of money - i doubt that getting married substantially changed her clothing expenditure.

but i do think her style is getting simply amazing - she use to be abit trendy with her items, but I think she has a more settled aesthetic now.

Though i remember her amazing wedding with what must be the most extroradinary wedding dress ever, and Olivier Theyskens on hand the entire day to personally look after her wardrobe.. wow.
