She’s everywhere!
Twenty-five-year-old Lily Aldridge has appeared in campaigns for Banana Republic, Coach, J Brand and Clinique Happy, among others, and has been photographed by everyone from Bruce Weber to Ben Watts and Walter Chin. “I’d love to work with Mario Testino,” she says. “He shoots women so beautifully and classically.”
Aldridge earned her wings this year…
Last month’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was Aldridge’s second appearance on the famed runway, and her first wearing the coveted angel wings. “When they showed them to me, I was jumping up and down,” she says. “The show really is the number-one highlight of the year, job-wise.”
…but off the runway she wears:
“I love Isabel Marant,” Aldridge says. “I have maybe 100 of her flannels and wear them every day, but she also does the most beautiful, feminine pieces. I think Phillip Lim is the other 50 percent of my wardrobe; I have so many of his bags, and the dresses are so good, feminine but also just really cool.”
Her favorite Las Vegas spots:
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab are where you’ll find the LA-raised Aldridge, who loves her town’s close proximity to Las Vegas. “I’m not really into the clubs, though,” she says. “I usually sit by the pool all day or head to the spa.”
Dreaming:
“I’d love to do a small collection as a sideline,” Aldridge says. “Models have a really good sense of clothes; we spend so much time trying so many different things. And sometimes you wish you could design your own collection because you can’t find the stuff you want. So perhaps a small label just to start out; I love Erin Wasson’s stuff or what Kate Moss does for Topshop, so who knows!”
