The always-gorgeous Victoria's Secret model Lily Aldridge flew in to promote the launches and I was lucky enough to get five minutes of her time for a quick chat. She was super-sweet, down to earth and just as stunning in person as she is while strutting the VS runway with her angel wings on.
Without further ado, here are the highlights from the interview.
Q: Tell me a little bit about the bra and fragrance launches we're here for today.
A: We're here launching the INCREDIBLE Bra, and the great thing about this bra--as a woman, you'll understand how amazing this is--is that there are no clasps on the bra. It's self adjusting and it fits amazing. If you're wearing a tight top or a see-through blouse, you're not going to see all those lines in the back. It adjusts to your body, which is really amazing because I've never seen a bra do that before. And there are all these beautiful colours, like this grey one I wore in the [Victoria's Secret] commercial shot by Michael Bay.
The new INCREDIBLE Fragrance is really fresh and comforting, and it has all these beautiful words on the bottle, like sexy, bold and flirty. I think it's so nice to be able to see those words in the morning when you spray yourself with perfume. Sometimes you wake up and forget how beautiful life is, but then you see these great words and it makes you feel good about the day ahead.
Q: How would you describe your perfect fragrance?
A: My perfect fragrance is something subtle, beautiful and fresh. I like something you can just spray in your hair that smells good but isn't overpowering.
Q: What are your beauty bag essentials?
A: My beauty bag essentials are ChapStick--I don't go anywhere without ChapStick--and I always have fragrance in my purse. I never leave home without perfume because I like to smell good. Eyelash curlers are always good and so is moisturizer.
Q: Is there a specific moisturizer you swear by?
A: I have this amazing oil that I use, it's Shu Uemura Balancing Oil, and I put it on every night before I go to bed. It just makes my skin look really supple in the morning, it's incredible. People look at my face and they're like, "What is that?" It's truly amazing, especially in the winter when the air is so dry.
Q: I'm a little bit obsessed with your ombré locks. Who does your colour?
A: Tracey Cunningham at the Byron & Tracey Salon in LA. She was the first person I've ever seen do [ombré] hair and, almost everyone you see in the magazines, she does their hair colour. She's truly incredible.
Q: How would you describe your personal style?
A: I'm very simple and casual and a little bit rock-and-roll. I was a big tomboy when I was little so I've kind of always hung onto that and I like it--I like being casual and simple.
[While eavesdropping on a conversation Lily was having with another journalist, I overheard her say that her and her fiance Caleb Followill, lead singer of Kings of Leon, share clothes sometimes since they both have really laid-back style. She'll throw on his jeans and t-shirt one day and he'll throw on her flannel the next. "I just hope he doesn't wear your Victoria's Secret bras," the reporter joked. "Oh, no," Lily said, laughing, "those are just for me."]
Q: How do you stay fit?
A: I have a trainer, that's my secret weapon. You know, like anyone, I don't want to wake up and go work out, so it's good to have someone to crack the whip and make me do all those crunches.
Q: And do you have any favourite sports?
A: Soccer is one of my favourite sports and I love doing pilates, it makes you really strong and you feel really good after. Yoga and pilates are really good for your body and your soul.
