no disrespect to the girl afterall she has made it quite far... but would i be wrong to ask why? She's pretty yes but she doesn't scream "model" to me. It's like if i passed her on the street I wouldn't take a second glance also when i look at her body of work it's not that great! I also think that she pales next to the other girls... just my 2 cents!

I don't know what "screams model" to you, but to me Lily probably does sneak up on people. It is easy to dismiss her as a WAG, and of course a lot of people checked her out initially because of VS or her boyfriend but stayed around because of who she is. When it comes to modeling specifically, beauty wise, there is something slightly exotic about Lily's face - her slightly tanned skin, the big, brown eyes and of course there's the hair. Her personality adds to things because instead of being standoffish and cool she comes off as friendly and even goofy at times, the exotic look plus girl-next-door personality brings to mind Cindy Crawford. I think that Lily is a good print model and she has done some good eds and campaigns, but I think that she has not been challenged on this front, my guess is that this is a consequence of being a money-maker since almost the beginning of her career. Models do eds to market themselves for campaigns, but Lily has always gotten campaign and catalog work so there has not been the need to market her that way.

I actually respect Lily a lot for being such a determined model. She could have easily gone the "It-Girl" route along with her friends (HVN, Lauren Hastings, etc.) seeing as how she has the background (wealthy L.A. artists family) and the relationships (Incubus guitarist, Jamie Dornan, KOL singer) that could all have led her to just lean back and party for the next 15 years without exactly doing anything noteworthy. I don't think Lily is the best HF model around but as a commercial model she's great and it's admirable she's doing this whole VS thing with such a passion and I'd rather see someone like her with a less obstrusive sexiness about her as a VS spokesmodel than some generic blonde bimbo like you see them in Sports Illustrated and such. To me her success definitely makes sense.
