F is for Fly Girls: Victoria Secret Angels Lily Aldridge and Alessandra Ambrosio

I’ve fired my videographer. There she was, on a sweet assignment interviewing Victoria Secret Angels Lily Aldridge (left) and Alessandra Ambrosio in a freakin’ helicopter, and somehow she recorded only four seconds. Good. Lord.

Thank goodness I took a couple of notes. And confiscated the camera.

Lily and Alessandra were in Toronto yesterday to crank up the media spotlight on the opening of an Eaton Centre Victoria’s Secret location. Also here to attract happy attention was the 2010 Bombshell Fantasy Bra, bedazzled with 3,000 white diamonds (60 carats) and 82 carats of topaz and sapphire stones for a total of 142 twinkling carats worth $2 million.

So, on their days off, when they’re not freezing in whipping Toronto winds at Polson Pier, what do the Angels do to feel beautiful? “Wear no makeup!” exclaims Alessandra. Of course. (I’ve tried that one. Meh.)

What about for a special night out? “Definitely makeup, great lip gloss — the Victoria Secret holiday makeup is beautiful,” says Alessandra, before we all geek out together about the VS limited-edition Midnight Glamour nail lacquer. A gorgeous inky deep blue, the polish is so pigmented you can get away with just one coat if you so choose — but you won’t because two is killer.

And where might they wear the Bombshell Fantasy bra? “Anywhere,” insists Alessandra. “Like New Years’ — what a way to start the year!”

Lily’s answer would certainly make fiancé Caleb Followill, singer for Kings of Leon, very… hungry. “I would wear it in the kitchen,” she says.
