The girl I chose in the video is the world model Linda Evangelista...who grew up a few miles from Stonewallstudios. This is a tribute to Gordon Lightfoot and I related to this song by Gordon Lightfoot when it was first released and came to love it to this day. versustito, thank you for that link. Linda is showing up in such unseemly places. Funny enough, I was just reading about him in the newspaper because he is going to be performing in my areas very soon. Gordon Lightfood is sort of a folksy singer, and actually hit the pop charts in the early 70s. A lot of Canadian pride in that video. I liked it a lot.

Supermodel LINDA EVANGELISTA is on the cover of the American edition of Vogue magazine's August (06) issue - at the age of 41 and pregnant with her first child.

Evangelista is the first non-Hollywood star to feature on the publication's cover in over a year.
Inside, the beauty reveals she never had any aspirations to turn to acting or singing.
She says, "I decided when I was 12 that it's what I wanted to do and I count my blessings that I got to realise my dreams.
"Being a rock star was out of the question. I can't sing. I'm so glad this worked out for me, I do think I know how to be a good model. And I didn't have a plan B in place."

Vogue has coaxed Christy Turlington out of retirement
Kate and Naomi may have been making the headlines for all the wrong reasons lately, but the fashion world is revisiting the heady days of the early Nineties with gusto.
And about time too. “It’s all about having fun again,” Lanvin designer, Alber Elbaz says in the current issue of American Vogue. “That’s what’s been missing for such a long time. It’s not the return of supermodels. It is the return of personality.”
Where have the Supers (apart from Kate and Naomi) been? This month’s issue of American Vogue has an age and gravity-defying fashion spread with the greatest of them all – Linda Evangelista. She is 41, six-months pregnant and it’s as if a single day hasn’t passed. “Big Girls Don’t Cry” says the headline. Anna Wintour managed to coax Christy Turlington out of retirement – she’s 37 and the mother of two. She models this season’s New Black, which in case you (or someone at Private Eye) wants to know is… Red.
As a teen in the early Nineties my peers and I were all obsessed with the impossible beauty and oomph that the Supers had. I wasn’t blinded by the fashion world, but at 14-years-old or so was transfixed - I can still remember the Helmut Newton shots of the German Super, Nadja Auermann, who was a genetic wonder. Her body was two-thirds leg, one-third body. The images were other-worldly.
Gianni Versace – the father-figure and mentor for the Supers – lives on. This season the Versace campaign will feature Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, Caroline Murphy, Daria Werbowy and Angela Lindvall. "I started my career working with the Versaces and it had been years since I had seen Donatella. It was great to spend a day catching up with old friends and familiar faces. Shooting the campaign was definitely much more fun than work," Christy Turlington told Vogue.com.
Wintour, in her editor’s letter, remembers that Evangelista once said, “We are Vogue”. Wintour admits that the comment wasn’t far off.

Vogue sees the re-emergence of the Supers as a backlash against the “pale anonymous teenagers who have stared blankly from photographs and runways these past couple of years.” My sister, a make-up artist, recently worked on a fashion shoot where the model was stunningly beautiful, but only 12-years-old.
Call it nostalgia for my early teenage discovery of fashion magazines, but I’d choose Evangelista at 41 over a 12-year-old any time. The Supers may have been obnoxious at times but they had the va-va-voom to go with it.

Evangelista (41 de ani) este o mare fana a inlaturarii ridurilor cu Botox, in timp ce Turlington nici nu vrea sa auda de asa ceva. "Am folosit de multe ori injectiile cu Botox si nu ma tem s-o recunosc. Pentru mine, este acelasi lucru cu a-mi vopsi parul sau a ma machia", a explicat Linda. Turlington (37 de ani) se declara anti-Botox. "Nu ma tem ca imbatranesc. Sunt mandra de fata mea, de fiecare data cand ma uit la alte persoane de aceeasi varsta care si-au injectat Botox", insista ea.
