I so hugely adore this outfit. :crush: That Perry Ellis show was also one of my favourites, especially the white and pink one that J.P. wore.

stylish LOLITA

I really like this trend, a polar opposite to the current 'ladylike' trend which I'm getting sick of. I think I have elements of it in my wardrobe already but I'd love a perfect white summery dress like the Marni one softgrey posted. Anna Molinari and Bluemarine do the lolita look so well.
Would you say there is a difference between the trend for childlike clothes and Lolita chic? I think some of the Marc by Marc Jacobs stuff is less sexy more child.

Dunno about the book, but I saw the 1997 film. It was quite good.

The book is decent...not an easy read...but it opened to the world the concept not only of pedophilia, but of girls inducing pedophilia. It was extremely shocking at the time, and the concept is still so deeply unsettling that the 1997 film that Alex refers to was never distributed in wide theatrical release. The studio and distributors could not risk the backlash from those red state activists.

I absolutely love this thread, and especially the kintergarden collection. But that extreme a Babydoll style is going to raise eyebows among the inteeelectual critics.

Maybe people should have parties when Bill O'Reilly decides to rant about it.

It's a real fantasy fulfiller for me, and I can't wait to see it on the street.
