Lolita Chic

At the beginning of Britney's career as a pop star, she was kind of marketed as a teen lolita image but also just a small town southern christian girl. This iconic picture was taken when she was about 16-17 by LaChappelle for Rolling Stone. It's really a pretty picture but kind of twisted when you think about how old she was. Definitely fit with the lolita thread I thought..

Interesting trend. This trend is kind of tricky. You don't want to look like you just stepped out of a barely legal p*rno movie.

It would be nice to have separate threads for Japanese Lolita vs. Nabokov Lolita.

I love the Japanese style, and the boystyle variations.

I also think they should be in separate threads. I love the Nabokov Lolita, but I don't care for the the Japanese / frilly petticoat Lolita at all.

I don't like the "promiscous girl" take on this style.

I love this trend! I'm a fan of lolita fashion so I enjoy seeing a chic western version of it :)

I'm not into the gothic lolita fashion but gosh it's a sigh to see in person. Some of the clothes, as separate pieces, are great.

Karen Walker fall/winter 2008 always seemed a bit lolita to me, especially when you see it in person.

risska
the collection is very beautiful
especially all the white dresses and that grey one

I´m not into this style, but damn, those japanese girls really put effort for clothing. I somehow admire that, though they could have used their effort for better style  Of course, only in my opinion.

And gosh, Britney...I didn`t remember how strongly sexcualized she was in her teens. I knew she was, but those pics go whay over borderline of good taste.
