I think this takes the cake as my favorite collection this season

Although I don't like how Marc refers to it as "Parisian", because it looks a lot more tribal than Parisian to me.

well, paris is an eclectic city with many different cultural infuences... african being one of the strongest ones. i think that the collection is a great reflection of that!

The only thing that felt Parisian for me is Édith Piaf in the soundtrack What I love the most about the collection are the bags, LV meets Africa mix is really wonderful

I think the Parisian thing so many reviews were talking about was due mainly to the fact that it was referencing Africa (and Asia, and the 20's, and the 40's for that matter) via Saint Laurent instead of directly. When you ignore the styling, the jewelry, the tribal motifs on the shoes, the obi-esque belts, what you're left with is actually pretty European looking; very sharp cropped jackets with strong shoulders, clashing colors, beadwork, mini skirts, volume, wide leg trousers and more than a hint of Josephine Baker. Even the hair, it could be inspired by Afros or it could be inspired by French poodles.

I think you kind of need to try and ignore the initial impact of it before you can see the Frenchness.

this collection is easily one of the best of this decade , for me this is my favourite MJ collection ever and 20 years from now im sure it will be referenced . I did not like his fall 2009 collection for LV but the fact he came up with this funky yet sophisticated perfection is enough for me . I want it all!!!!!

The show is five years old right now and I still can remember it like it was just yesterday. The finale still gives me goosebumps and the to die for accessories I wonder if they are still accessible somewhere. A truly brilliant FASHION show.
