Lucky Magazine

Does anyone know who the model in the "Beauty of a Country Weekend" editorial is?

^ if you post her pic in the model ID thread, I'm sure someone would know.

This issue was so thin. And the $500 in my wardrobe feature is such a lie! There ain't $500 hiding in my closet cleanout!

Love Nicole! Great to see her on their cover.....
Glad that Lucky is getting more interesting cover girls the past few months.

I've decided not to renew my subscription, btw. Has Nicole ever been on the cover before? She seems so anti-Lucky ...

^Nicole had a cover a few years back.

I'm waiting to get the bigger issues but so far I'm not impressed by the changes.

Recently I couldn't find credits for the cover look (Diane's issue I think). All of that used to be laid out on an early page very very clearly, with other info about the shoot. That was a great dress she wore & I wanted to know more about it.

And now they are refocusing on getting a celebrity look (or I could more kindly say, being inspired by a celebrity icon), when the magazine was originally focused on personal style rather than imitating celebs.

"BRANDON HOLLEY, the new editor of the beleaguered shopping magazine Lucky, has a complicated relationship with clothes.

Joshua Bright for The New York Times
Brandon Holley in November conducting a meeting at Lucky on fashion blogs.
As a teenager in Great Falls, Va., Ms. Holley would cram Ralph Lauren outfits bought by her preppy mother into a drawer so she could attend punk shows at the 9:30 Club in Washington wearing a ripped T-shirt and jeans. “The sides of my head were shaved,” she recalled recently over beer and brussels sprouts at a restaurant near her house in Red Hook, Brooklyn. “You can imagine in the ’80s how I looked.”

In her 20s, Ms. Holley tried designing some items, including a fur bikini, for her all-girl band, Bikini Machine (later renamed Gangster of Love), but the other members refused to wear them onstage. “There was a revolt,” she said.

Today, after 15 years editing magazines like Jane and ElleGirl and a brief stint at Yahoo, Ms. Holley, 44, a blond, off-kilter beauty, now goes to work in Marc Jacobs skirts, Prada blouses and Dries Van Noten shoes. “I’ve developed a healthy sidelong glance at the fashion industry,” she said. “I love fashion and I love clothes and I love the way people dress, but I don’t cry at a Marc Jacobs show.”

That attitude would not be considered politic at, say, Vogue. But at Lucky, where Ms. Holley arrived in September after the sudden, somewhat mysterious departure of Kim France, the magazine’s founding editor, it counts as a qualification."

I had the same problem, it took me FOREVER to find it, which was very annoying!

text overload, but I see the improvement since Diane's cover

Not sure if that is a true representation of the colour of Heidi's cover. The pic posted in #569 showed a more subdued pink.

I actually didn't Like Nicole's cover but did like the content of the issue(even though it was thin).

Ugh. Everytime I see Heidi Klum on a cover I think Ladies Home Journal or something.
