The "I don't have a stylist" tagline on the cover... (Actually, the "Modern Fashion Icon" thing is just as dumb). But I don't know, it's kind of an interesting cover image, it looks very retro because of the styling and it's not all that bad.

She looks lost and confused, as if she doesn't know what she's supposed to do.

If I were a stylist, I'd be buying out the newsstands so I could use this as an ad for my services

One thing I did like about Lucky is that they put people like Christina Hendricks on the cover who weren't the usual suspects on other magazine covers. Now that Anna Wintour's shadow is hovering over the magazine I hope they don't start showcasing her pets like Blake who has gotten way more than her fair share of covers for no apparent reason.

I still think this magazine is in for a bit of a struggle... I'm predicting that it will eventually become a web-only property, which wouldn't exactly hurt the brand. They have some amazing editors on-board and a great social media team.

That'd be such a shame. Lucky was one of my favorite magazines growing up. It sold itself as a shopping guide but I always thought of it how to get the best style of your life guide. :D:cool: It always gave the best, most eclectic tips on where to shop, featured a variety of items and how to wear them, gave a bunch of different style ideas, etc. Its layouts were always jampacked and now there's considerably lesser content, and what's there is some it's really generic and trend-based. Maybe I follow fashion a lot more now but Lucky has become so derivative when it was once original.

I'm hoping now that Eva Chen is editor in chief (former Teen Vogue beauty editor) the content will improve. In the past I've felt that Lucky lacked a bit of substance, that it was all fluff, and it would be great to see the magazine change it a bit. Eva has pretty good taste, and as someone who's been reading her articles since her days at TV I'm wishing her the best! For her first cover, I'd say she did quite well, Blake looks beautiful and I love the jacket that she was styled in.

Completely agree! I hope Eva is bringing some new and fresh ideas to Lucky. This cover is already better than the ones this magazine has seen in a while

i would have never guessed carlyne styled this...
some of the looks seem so pedestrian...:ninja:
