Lupita Nyong'o

I love both looks in Hawaii.

It made me realise that she should stick with the short hair for events. I know she likes to experiment with different hairstyles, but she looks best with the short hair, for sure!

Much, much better. She looks gorgeous and I also love her bikini.

I like her experimenting with the short hair, I add no idea you could do that.

Perfect dress for the location, and her coverup and bikini are equally great.

SHE'S BACK! :woot:

The opening ceremony dress is bomb, and she finally made a great shoe choices. Love the entire thing. Very cute bikini, too, and she's got a banging body. Also her skin looks gorgeous. Basically she's perfect.

i love everything about her looks in hawaii. sun-kissed and radiant.

Cute in Hawaii.

Rachel Bilson wore that same bikini last week; the ID is on her thread if anyone is interested. :flower:

Love the Hawaii looks! She looks perfect  That bikini is adorable on both Lupita and Rachel.

And more movie news...

Lupita Nyong’o will star in and produce a movie version of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s romance novel “Americanah” with Brad Pitt’s Plan B, D2 Productions and Potboiler Productions.

The deal re-teams the Kenyan actress — who made her film debut in “12 Years a Slave” — with Pitt’s production company, which produced “12 Years a Slave.”

“Americanah” centers on a young Nigerian couple in a romance that explores the cruelties and the humor of the modern immigrant experience.

The couple fall in love as teenagers in a Lagos secondary school while Nigeria is under military dictatorship. The young woman departs for America but the young man is unable to join her and plunges into a dangerous, undocumented life in London. Years later, he’s become wealthy in a newly democratic Nigeria, while she returns after having achieved success as a writer of a blog about race in America.

The novel was the winner of the 2013 National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction.

“It is such an honor to have the opportunity to bring Ms. Adichie’s brilliant book to the screen,” Nyong’o said. “Page after page I was struck by Ifemelu and Obinze’s stories, whose experiences as African immigrants are so specific and also so imminently relatable. It is a thrilling challenge to tell a truly international story so full of love, humor and heart.”

Nyong’o begins production this summer on J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars: Episode VII” and is part of the voice cast of Jon Favreau’s “The Jungle Book.” She was the creator, director, editor, and producer of the feature-length documentary “In My Genes” about the treatment of Kenya’s albino population.

Adichie also wrote “Purple Hibiscus” and “Half of a Yellow Sun,” which was made into a feature that recently premiered in the United Kingdom and Nigeria.

Andrea Calderwood of Potboiler produced “Half a Yellow Sun” and “The Last King of Scotland.”

Nyong’o is represented by D2 Management, CAA and Del Shaw.

Great string of business news! I appreciate even more the fact that she'll be involved in the production: so much better to be (a bit more) in charge!

The latest Hawaï looks are spot-on! She's so pretty in the opening night outfit, from head to toes!

Awesome news, I'm a huge fan of Adichie's work and can't way to see the interpretation on screen. That Lupita is starring in one of my favorite novel is the perfect cherry on top of an great cake.
Cute in Hawaii.

See #867.:)

She looks so good in Hawaii. Love the Calvin Klein dress and I agree with everybody she should always keep her hair short and natural like that.

Americanah is such a great news. Her post-Oscar choices have been very wise IMO. While Star Wars and the Jungle Book will secure a more mainstream sucess *fingers crossed*, it's cool to see her involvement in projects like the Adichie adaptation.

It's a brilliant move on Lupita's part to produce Americanah, she's setting herself up to have control over the stories she tells, both in front and behind the camera, and I love seeing women in Hollywood taking on such positions. By crafting the roles she wants to see, Lupita is changing the industry. And this is something which I really respect. Also, just wanted to mention I loved the look she wore at the film event in Hawaii, the blue color is perfect!

Such a lovely picture. She looks serene, yet like she has a naughty secret.

I like the idea of the outfit, but I don't actually like the way it looks. Her hair and makeup look beautiful, and her skin is just glowing. I like the color of the dress, and it's certainly appropriate for Hawaii, but too short and shapeless.
