Unfortunately the two photos above are the only images of Lupita. Aside from a few notable black celebrities like Sheryl Lee Ralph, Vanessa Williams (the dark skinned one) and Fashion Editor-at-large Mikki Taylor, the book is filled with everyday dark skinned women like teachers, hair dressers, clinical psychologists and more.
Here's a snapshot that made me chuckle. I'm sure a large majority of dark skinned women have heard this line. Her response is the best:
My niece attended the conference in Mass., she was determined to meet Lupita and Mrs. Clinton. Her dress is gorgeous, I swear Lupita can wear any color, she looks lovely.
I actually like her in pastels. God, I like her in anything. I remeber she attended a CK show, and she and Naomi Watts were dressed in pink and blue. What a vision they were.
My niece said the dress was gorgeous and Lupita is breathtaking in person, what she could see of her on stage. She, disappointingly, did not get to meet her, the more famous attendees did no public meet/greet.
