Not really. They bear a superficial resemblance in that both are waist length jackets with elastic waists and cuffs and a central front zipper. However, the MA-1 is a military jacket with utilitarian design and construction, and the Members Only jacket is an iconic fashion jacket representing, arguably, the more trendy/club-going aspects of 80s style.

Usually the colour of the jackets was green so that it could be used to blend into the environment (camoflouge during the Korean War.) The lining is orange so it can be flipped around if fighter pilots wanted to be located by friendlies during a war.
