Mad Men

Does anyone else think this season is the first to regress?

Last week's episode was arguably the best of the season so far. I really think John Slattery did a great job directing; it felt very 'early' Mad Men. This season's premiere was absolutely awful though.

Also, how gorgeous is this image?

^^^Yes. Watching Mad Men sometimes I just want to freeze the frame and admire images like pictures..

This season is quite odd. I like it but it makes me sad where everybody seems to be going.

I don't GET Mad Men...is it just 'cause the characters smoke and are sexist and we find it funny now?

What was shown in the preview for this Sunday? I missed and can't find the video on youtube anywhere!

It's an exceptionally well written show (the best ever in my opinion). It's adult, it's sophisticated, it doesn't talk down to its audience. Often times the humor is subtle, and sometimes it's laugh out loud funny, but it's never obvious or in your face. Perhaps what I love most about it is the character development. There are certain characters that don't get a thorough back-story until halfway into the series, and the plot constantly reveals more and more about the characters.

This is coming from someone that can't stand anything else that's on television right now though. Some of the highest rated shows cater to such morons.

I am starting to watch it, wether I get into it I don't know but I am starting to watch season one and on episode one at the moment.

I hope episode 5 concentrates on Betty more, I'm curious to see what's going on with her..

^I'm so jealous of you guys! I wish I could join in the discussion.
But I haven't been catching up with tv airing so I'm only up to the end of season 1 now.:(

OMG look at Don! His face screams sex.

So am I, I'm so anxious to see how this new marriage pans out or what will happen with her and the kids.

Absolutely agree.
I saw the show when it aired, and now I´m rewatching it, and this time I´m getting to enjoy the dialogs and situations even more. This show puts some "great" movies to shame. Plus visually is real treat. Sometimes I just gotta pause to admire furniture, clothes, faces... JUST GREAT.

I´m a BIG fan as you can see.

I think it's amazing because it's been on the air for four seasons and it has not hit a slump yet. The writing is still fresh, the storylines haven't spun out of control and the character development is unlike any other show. I really appreciate all the time the set and costume crews take to make sure all the details are correct as well.
Loved last weeks episode! The final scene with Peggy and Pete was so stunning. I need more Betty tho. :judge:

I'm ready for a Betty update too.. really happy it's sunday night.. can't wait!

Betty!♥
Love her now, her daughter hate her and his new husband will discover the monster she is, she can be so cute and so b*tch, can't wait to see her.

Can anyone tell me about the girl who tried to hit on Peggy? I couldn't really understand her fixation with the receptionist and why she didn't come out with them after Peggy had asked her.. The last episode was good, the girl who plays Don & Betty's daughter is amazing actress.. it's slightly scary how good of a child actor she is.

I think the girl from LIFE is a lesbian and the receptionist knew something wasn't right.
Loved last night's episode, it was so dark but they had a lot of humor. Loved the bit with the former Sterling Cooper employee at the other agency.
Betty has been looking good lately, I loved the suit she wore to the psychiatrists office. The girl who plays Sally is scarily good! I wonder how they go about directing her since she has such a taxing role.

aww! I felt bad for poor Sally!!:bunny: She is by far my favorite character!:D
Betty is such a beyotch!! I hate her and it won't be long since she'll feel miserable with the new husband

Oh and I love Jessica Pare as the new receptionist. I always thought her career would take off but it didn't. I really liked her on the movie Stardom.
