Mad Men

Season 4 starts July 25th!!!

It's a little earlier than I expected!

^ I just watched the finale of season 3 last week:shock:
Another long wait for me:( Anyhow loved it and the meltdown of Sterling Cooper is a great plot device in bringing everyone back together.
So pleased Don's life is just falling to pieces around him, but it's easy to forget that Jon Hamm is an exceptional actor, bringing such a flawed and difficult character to life. January Jones was exceptional again and John Slattery's delivery is unreal. So funny, rude, unPC, charming.
Saying that every actor on the show is superb.

july?!?! oh man :( i was hoping it was soon.. im getting fed up of the drama on the other shows which i watch out of habit now..
after the sopranos, i truly got hooked to mad men.. great storylines, great cast, amazinggggggggggggggggggggggg clothes..and well.. jon hamm :p

I also wish Mad Man season 4 would start like NOW! I sooo love this show! It's the best TV-show that came along in a loooong time imo

^Enjoy! Season 3 is brilliant too!

Finished watching it last week and suffering withdrawal symptoms now. It is just the best thing on TV.

I wish the UK didn't have to wait so long for it to be shown. I'm sure Season 4 won't be on here until 2011.

^I think France has only shown season 1 so far...

I've only watched clips of the show, but watching it is on my summer to-do list.

Mad Men Casting Scoop: Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce to Add Employees

Show: Mad Men, Tags: Casting News, Spoilers

While we're still months away from the fourth season premiere of Mad Men, we're just days away from production getting underway on the show's opening episode.

Shooting is scheduled to begin on April 12.

As for what fans can expect on the new season, creator Matthew Weiner has been tight-lipped as always. But Entertainment Weekly has broken the news that three recurring characters will be added to the cast.

They'll include:

* A handsome/creative male.
* A voluptuous, curvy, brunette (possible rival for Joan?).
* A nice guy with a lack of a personality.

I just re-watched season 1.
I wish we got to find out if Don knew what Betty said in her last therapy session but oh well. There was no mention of it in season two.
And you're right, Jon Hamm can make a cruel, self-centered, hypocritical man extremely charismatic!

I do like the letter he wrote to Betty and the end of season 2

I'm anxious to see what's going to happen to Betty, she's clearly suffering from depression and she wants more than the suburban life she has. When they were in Rome you could see how free and happy she was and that she was away from the restraints of family life. In fact, Betty reminded me of the Kate Winslet character in Revolutionary Road. And that's making me think it's not going to end well for Betty.

I agree with you like a thousand times. Anytime she finds a little bit of freedom, Don seems to find someway of making her feel small again.

I hope Elisabeth Moss gets a bigger part in this season. Peggy is easily the best character. I was so annoyed when they just shafted her last season and put the focus on the collapse of Don and Betty's marriage.

‘Mad Men’ Dolls in a Barbie World, but the Cocktails Must Stay Behind

AFTER three seasons, “Mad Men,” the television series about advertising in the 1960s, has attained a level of popular-culture cachet. There have been magazine cover articles, calendars and an episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” all devoted to it, spoofs on “The Simpsons” and “Saturday Night Live,” and even a “Mad Men” category on “Jeopardy.”

The Barbie and Ken versions of the “Mad Men” characters are, from left, Joan Holloway, Roger Sterling, Don Draper and Betty Draper.

Soon, the show will enter a realm of the pop-culture pantheon that its creator, Matthew Weiner, says has surprised even him: Mattel plans to bring out versions of Barbie and Ken styled after four “Mad Men” characters.

The dolls are part of a premium-price collectors’ series for adults that Mattel calls the Barbie Fashion Model Collection. Although there have been Barbies and Kens based on other TV series, among them “I Love Lucy” and “The X-Files,” the dolls will be the first licensed line for that collection, Mattel says, with a suggested retail price of $74.95 each.

it feels like i've been waiting years for this day...

It was good season opener. I'm excited for what is going to happen this season. I felt bad for him when he was spending Thanksgiving alone but then I remembered he did it to himself by doing all he did.

I wish I could make a gif of the woman slapping Don's face.. it was :brows:.. on Thanksgiving :o.. still love Don though .
