Mad Men

Roger's daughter's wedding date is the day after the Kennedy assassination. Uh-oh...

Also Joan is now Mrs. Harris, guess she got married.

Betty smoking and drinking...mmmhmmmm...it's nice to see she left the 50's behind though, her looks is more glam.

Also love Embeth Daviditz as Mrs. Pryce!

Wow.....Embeth Davidtz and Jared Harris are in this series:D.......and the waiting begins.

This was my exact thought during that scene! The assassination will no doubt be the focus of at least one episode, maybe more. Very interesting indeed.

I missed the grass shot because the version I was watching cut out five minutes before the end :(

Still - I LOVED this episode, and I felt the pace was a lot better than last weeks. Peggy  I just LOVE her character, I love how Elizabeth Moss plays her. We are seeing her side right now, and I know at some point this season, we will see Joan, on the other side, being just the 'pretty' girl. But right now, seeing Peggy so desperately want to be a part of that, flirting with being that type of girl while knowing how truly fake and insipid it is - it's definitely a very accurate view of that struggle that I think a lot of girls/women go through.

I also love that Roger is finally seeing the fall-out of his actions this week and you can see it's going to get worse. Did anyone see the preview of next week - the crazy hat that Jane wears? It's funny that she's all uptown now considering she was just a secretary before....

And yes, January Jones has totally come into her own as an actress. I agree her treatment of her children is quite hard to take - especially her daughter. And yet it's done in such a way that we can literally see Betty's issues from her childhood being projected on her own children. Her desire for her daughter to be beautiful, to be wanted, to be attractive by societies measures. I nearly died laughing last week at the "little lesbian" comment.

I also thought Mona looked very pretty this episode. I don't remember thinking much of her before, but I thought she definitely had that 'pure' look that Don was talking about. She looked great

I have just started watching the first two episodes of the first season of Mad Men (yeah I know I am really late! ) and I must say I'm already hooked! :woot:

I will try to refrain myself from reading this thread though - so many spoilers

I finally caught up with all episodes so far, wow what can i say ,they came back even better than previous two season's.It DOES get better, Joan's husband!! OMG i can not stand that ****, ugh men like that make me sick, full of insecurities and ready to throw their wives to the sharks at any given moment so he can come out smelling of roses!!

There is so much greatness in each episode, i find myself watching them several times.

^ I totally agree about Joan's husband, i just want to slap him when i see him. I don't like Betty at all, i find her to be highy irritating and her coldness towards her children annoys me.

I find Betty to be one of the most fascinating characters on the show, plus on a superficial level, she personifies the glamour of the time. That last episode with the dreams and then that last scene where she stands there in the hallway full of dread about this baby was so great. You could feel it all even though we only saw her back.

I find Betty fascinating as well, however i agree with Scout about her mothering skills, my god she is COLD!

And that little girl was outstanding in the last few episodes, a job well done, such a cutie!

The John Deere scene of tonight's episode...
My goodness, i know!!! :ninja: Poor Mr. MacKendrick, he was rather handsome too. And what was even more disturbing was that "he will never be able to play golf" off-hand remark.

I liked how the episode ended, always nice to see the other side of Don.

So thrilled for its win for Best Drama/Drama writing at the Emmys last night...I wish Jon Hamm would've won Best Actor again, though!

And January looked particularly stunning in her dress

i'm with you!, i have seen the first 2 eps. of the first season..and i'm hooked already. :woot: i feel as though i'm watching a film rather than a tv series, which i love about it.. so much to catch up on now...

^ I was thinking the same thing. :p Poor Mr. MacKendrick; he was lovely and now he won't be able to play golf. As if that's the most important thing to think about. :ninja:

oh i wish i was caught up ! :ninja:

trying not to read the spoilers....:innocent: i'm almost finished season 1. completely hooked.. it's absolutely embarrassing

Betty's hair is always so perfect like her outfit... love when she almost become a coca-cola icon
