She may have been able to pull off the long trousers look if she had been wearing heels, but in her flat black pumps the excess material trailed on the ground.
Perhaps Madonna should have considered visiting a tailor to take up the trousers before their debut outing.
The singer said recently that the reason she decided to collaborate with her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes on their Material Girl collection because she wanted to be certain what was 'cool' in fashion, and what wasn't.
She told USA Today: 'Since I have a few careers going, I decided that I wasn’t going to get into designing this line by myself.
'No question, Lola seemed the perfect choice. She is really doing most of the work. She shows me things and I go "that’s cool" or "that’s not cool."
'We both go to business meetings. We exchange ideas, talk things out and even disagree about some things, though rarely.'

At the weekend, Madonna wore an oversized navy 80s-style Adidas tracksuit, her favourite blue hat and polka dot navy and white shirt as she held a surprise party for her singers and dancers in London.
In keeping with her sporty theme she matched the outfit with white trainers.
But despite her misguided attempt at youthful dressing, Madonna had no trouble when it came to keeping up with her younger friends.
She partied at Aura club in the capital until 3am, when she looked slightly worse for wear as she was driven home.
Madonna is making her directorial debut with W.E, which has been described as a 'two-tiered romantic drama.'

Madonna continues to direct scenes for her new movie W.E. on Friday (July 30) in Villefranche-sur-Mer, France.
Not much is known about the film but the 51-year-old Material Mom has said it’s about a girl who has this obsession about going to auctions.
Madonna explained to Interview, “Yeah, [it's] the movie everyone thinks I’m making that’s supposed to be a musical about the duke and duchess of Windsor. I don’t know why that got in the newspapers. The duke and duchess of Windsor are in the movie, but it’s not going to be about them. It’s really about this other woman’s journey, and the duchess is kind of her spiritual guide. … I use the Sotheby’s auction in 1998 of the duke and duchess of Windsor’s estate as a device to flash backward from.”
She added, “I’ve been writing it for the last two and a half years, to tell you the truth. It’s been kind of an obsession of mine. I started writing it when I finished filming [2008 directorial debut] Filth and Wisdom. It was actually an idea I had before that, but I made Filth and Wisdom because I realized that I didn’t really have a right to make a bigger film until I made a smaller film — and learned how to make a film.”

The 51-year-old Material Mom playfully copied Lourdes’ style, rolling one pant leg up and showing off her knee-length argyle socks.
