Maggie Cheung

You are basing that on pictures from one event?

no..I said lately, and I didn't say she looked bad or anything, I just thought since we hardly see any new pictures of her, everytime she does come out I want her to wow me.

You are right--actually I don't think she looks good at all at Givenchy--her dress and accessories are (as always) lovely but she looks either really tired or almost ill:sick: --her face just looks different to me, not in a good way.

I tend to see more pictures of her because I trawl a lot of Chinese language sites from the PRC and Hong Kong where it seems they run pictures every time she ventures out in public--as you can imagine they love her there as a Chinese woman who has become a big star in the West but they also complain about her having "foreign" (anyone buy Chinese) boyfriends.

I was too abrupt in my initial answer to you--in my own stupid way I am a bit ga-ga over her.

^ yeah her face does look different, I think it's the hair as well, did you know she cuts her own hair? since being a hairdresser was her childhood aspiration besides acting or something. It was all cool before but I think now it's getting to the point where she needs to pay a good visit to the salon and let the professional people do their job. Of course she will already have people who do hair for her, but it just looks to me like it hasn't been properly attended to.

I go to a lot of Chinese language sites too, I think Maggie's alright, she certainly doesn't get as much hate for dating westerners as Ziyi Zhang.

I used to think Maggie as really cool, she cut her own hair, her style probably the best in the Chinese entertainment industry, she even wore her wedding band on her thumb! But now she seems a little dull.

What! Dull? The Magster?!? But I love her so much.:P:heart::flower::heart:

Actually I love her acting--she has 33 costume changes in "In the Mood for Love", every single one of them into a different cheongsam and she is impossibly elegant in each of them. Her early stuff, when she was still "cute Maggie" was endearing and her later work is off the charts.

Also, there are a lot of cool interviews with her to be found in youtube. One from a film festival in Scotland where she won and award and gave a masterclass is just plain lovely.

Since this is about style, while I wouldn't say she is getting dull (realizing that dullness is completely in the eye of the beholder--and I would rather drink molten lead than criticize her in any way:shock:) I think she has become so well established that designers dress her in ways that might appeal to their older, most established customers. Which is just off the wall speculation on my part.

You are right about the treatment of Zhang Ziyi vs. Maggie in the press--they are vicious about Zhang Ziyi, very much in the "how dare she identify herself as Chinese, etc."

Cutting her own hair? Now that is shocking.

The Magster!:lol::heart:
She is still great, only a little dull being dull amongst the greats. ^_^
Ooo yes of course there was the cute Maggie too!
Police Stories with Jackie Chan, with Jacky Cheung, everything from the late 80s/early 90s were funs!

The blazer is nice; it's not her best look but it's great to see a new outfit

ehh... :ermm:

too much of a mish mash outfit for me... not a fan

to be honest it's been a few years already since I saw an outfit of Maggie that I actually loved, and it's not even about being trendy or not, she just doesn't even get the basic shapes right anymore. safe to say she's lost the magic:(

OMG, that outfit :yuk:. Style- or acting-wise, she can be overrated sometimes.
