Maison Martin Margiela F/W 13.14 Paris

this must be the debut for ivana omazic as the new head designer and i have to say i am pretty impressed with her ability to embrace the original aesthetic of the house and still present a new kind of identity. bravo to ivana! finally we might be seeing the house turn around.

I love this, its all very wearable but has that Margiela touch.
The colors, the pants, the coats, just amazing!

woah when did MMM runway collections become wearable?

I'm astonished at how wearable and sensible this collection is! A very refreshing change. :)

A step in the right direction, but just a baby step, I found a lot of it veering more on the garish side.

I agreed with any who thinks its wearable and sensible. I believe Margiela's fan would hate this but I like it.

The huge cuffs are totally fun. Some of the colour edging is good too, like spray painting. Good collection!

actually elle_gb....as a self-professed die-hard of the man himself,i do think this is a positive step in the right direction. it doesn't look nearly as gimmicky as it has been yet still manages to still be quirky enough and move forward with a new feel. i've been hoping to see a change. it looks much more thoughtful and respectful than it's been the last few seasons. it's not as much that mockery we've bore witness to since MM left.

but at the same time, the real results will lie beneath the clothes...the quality and the craftsmanship which has always been an important aspect of this house.

Wasn't sure on this at first as I didn't feel it was overly Margiela, but it's all in the details! Love the oversized cuffs - so happy patent is back too! Would it be awful if I got a set of PVC trousers? I'm afraid to even ask that question.

This is so different from what I expected but I kinda like it.

i'm actually surprised most of the old-schoolers round here aren't as interested in this. i keep coming back looking at it and i just find myself excited about MMM again. it's a very promising evolution. and i agree, there are such fantastic items in this.

i hope the menswear and the artisanal collections in the coming months will be as strong.
