seeing it for the third time and I still couldn't bring myself to like it. I have probably gotten over Margiela's departure, but these clothes still feels like a rehashing of the man's ideas: false lapels, towel patch works, plastic coats, gloves(?) over dresses...
I guess seeing this only reinforces the fact that you can't fake the real, and its either you have it or you don't....
Was Ivana Omazic the former designer for Celine?

she was a former assistant but i don't know what her role really consisted of because assistant can mean anything.

i dunno i still feel like it's such a nice departure from the ridiculousness that we've endured over the last few years. i think it's much more respectful of the label's identity without exaggerating it to gimmicky proportions.....and it feeling contrived and phony.

Scott, I will continue to look to future collections nonetheless and hopefully I will see something I like...but as long as one day they continue to come up with ugly collaborations like the recent one with Casio, or some ugly furniture, I think it ll be hard to draw die hard fans like us back..

i do agree with you that i feel they're trying to commercialize it way too much....from H&M to this new endeavour.....it's straying too far...it's turning what's essentially still a niche label into a niche brand. mostly their projects before were within the maison. but what can you expect when the guy that owns it also owns something like diesel?
