Maison Martin Margiela x H&M

I like the silver wrapper clutch, leggings, shoes and keyring jewellery.

What time do you reckon I should start queuing to get my hands on these?

6 or 7 am i would think...you can always hire a tramp to stand in line for you. thats what other people will be doing at least...

I realized that this collection is also going to be released on a Thursday. Most will have work no? Haven't these collaborations always been released on a Friday or Saturday?

From what I remember they were always released on a Thursday.

isn't it interesting the one thing that margiela kind of defined, the tabi boot, was not included in this effort? would have been kind of hilarious to see how that would have translated in this market.

I was asking myself the same Q, they would be mine totally, but they are not for h&m buyers unf..

i´ve tried men´s leather jacket. Fits good - anyway it´s too heavy. And a bit with YMCA vibe :D

hahah

duvet coat is adjusted too for h&m buyers..that's why it looks less like bed and more like fitted jacket

I don't like this duvet coat too, but I love original one.....this one would be cool if I have never seen original one..

Is anyone going to the Vogue reader event on the Weds?

Got my ticket in the post today, excited as it's a shopping event so hoping to get my hands on a couple of things without insane queues.

If Tabi boots are too extravagant for H&M buyers, I have to say the duvet coat looks just ridiculous to me, this version and the original one.

Too bad that burgundy bag is that big (it's more like suitcase) and same goes for candy wrapper clutch.
I love all the women shoes, a fitted black blazer and oversized pants that goes with it, but not going to purchase any of those.

The tabi boots are also something I expected. Also the 'frozen' jewels.

I disagree that the tabi boots would be extravagant considering what is offered in the collection.

see i think so myself. i've seen quite a number of the more intricate pieces part of this so i think the tabi wouldn't have been unsurprising or unfit. to be honest,i actually would have preferred to see something like those as opposed to that uber-trendy candy wrapper bag. at least it would have been a touch more timeless and gave the collection a bit more continuity.

but more on that duvet...i just don't like how they've presented that piece at all. when you think about it,take away the duvet shape it looks like your run of the mill puffa coat.

and you're welcome fritze :flower:

Hmm..not extravagant much? I don't think so, all this things that they've presented are not that extravagant(or should I say at all), maybe duvet coat, but think of it..not even him, and who would wear tabi boots(except the few of old fans/us)?

Everyone thinks those shoes are ugly, not even this seasons Prada could change minds...and if Prada can't turn global opinions, who can? :D

I don't like him in campaign, with those silver pants.. It would be better if the model was naked.

I'm going too! I only want a few bits but like you said hopefully I can get what I want without the chaos!

There will still be chaos I'm afraid. Especially if you're after any of the more limited pieces. It'll just be chaos... with cocktails.

I really don't think it'll matter to be honest. I've been to each one of these launches and you have to remember that in order to have got a ticket you have to be reading Vogue, which of course means the people who are going are the fashion customers, not the usual H&M lot. With it being a preview event as well they don't restock as they would on the launch day, there's only a certain amount of stock allotted to the preview launch. For the Jimmy Choo party there were actually pieces missing, they only got put out for the actual on sale date.

The queue outside, even though people have tickets, generally begins around 4.30pm or so. If you're at the front then you should be fine. There's usually two womenswear sections too, one on the ground floor and one on the lower ground, so if you're taking someone with you it's best to get someone to get the pieces you want too, and then meet afterwards. That's how I've always done it, ha. This time though I actually I only want some shoes, so I'm not sweating it too much.

And Canapes.

I want the short boots so I guess I better have my elbows at the ready, thanks for the heads up about the queue, thought it'd start about half hour before the event, should be fun though.

I hope they work out the shoes better than at Marni. Everyone ran in to be faced with a giant wall of shoe boxes. It was a bit of a hilarious nightmare. There was a simple line drawing of the shoe on the box but it took ages to work out which shoes were which, and that was before you'd even tried to find your size. I

It was amusing to watch so many people grabbing things only to open the box and realise they'd gotten a size 3 in a sandal they didn't want though.

btw this is the original duvet coat. something in this one for H&M strikes me as not well executed. it looks good as a copied variation but as a legitimate reproduction,it misses the mark, imo. the collar looks overstuffed and stiff--doesn't fall in the same manner. it's also shorter in length.

I'm curious to know if they did that just to tweak the style into a more modern look that would appeal more...I mean i'm not saying the original isn't nice i'm more assuming that it was done to cater to the buyer better...Obviously the original will always be better ^_^
