Make Me A Supermodel - UK TV show

Yeah, I have to agree, Kalista. I think these programmes do more harm than good - more than once I've thought a more hassle-free way to get a contract would be to just walk into the agency, as I bet they would have taken on half the MMAS girls if they hadn't been on the TV show (the much touted "only one contract available" being to blame). Now their reputations as 'credible' models are tarnished, and most of them will not get contracts.

Sorry if this isn't very coherent, but I'm in a hurry. :-)

Exactly, they've all been too overexposed. Which is a shame really because a couple of girls could have been able, like GlitteryBug said, to get a contract without the show.

at the end of the day, alice looked great on the runway, and in her photos. she seemed very determined to make a go of modeling. being on the show is definetly a kick to her credibility but she looks good so hopefully she will still get work. i'm looking forward to seeing her glamour cover, and hopefully an editorial in the mag.

MAKE ME A STAR

Make Me A Supermodel winner Alice Sinclair last night joined a host of other top models in London to show off the new Miss Selfridge autumn/winter fashion collection. Watched by a sea of famous faces, including Leah Wood, Pearl Lowe and fashion supremo Isabella Blow, Alice strutted her stuff on the catwalk like a seasoned pro. The clothes themselves, which will be in Miss Selfridge stores from September, were just as enthralling as the star wearing them: think plush velvet coats tied with huge bows, sheer floaty evening gowns and cute babydoll dresses, plus those ubiquitous shorts that just won't go away. "Inspirational!" laughed Leah Wood, when asked what she thought of the collection - and her mother, Jo Wood, was even more enthusiastic. "I'd wear it all," she told us. (7 April, 2005, 9AM)

Glastonbury is this June. Really looking forward to seeing Alice in Vogue Italia - she 100% deserves her success.

woot for Alice-well done to her, I didn;t think we'd hear anything about her!!

Do you think we will ever hear about any of the other girls?

Have to agree with boho_babe. Alice had the most "star quality" at the end of the day, and (much as I love her) even she has a uncertain future.

Well, Select signed Sam, Alice, Kate and Joanna. Seems that much touted 'exclusive contract' wasn't quite so exclusive. Didn't Tandy say there was only one, and just because they were on the show didn't mean they'd get signed? Hmm... food for thought.

I heard on This Morning that Sam has got a part on Hollyoaks

and the prize for resurecting old threads goes to...me!

i just came across alices profile on the select website, evedently she is still a model and getting work. here are a couple of pics for anybody that's interested..

Sam had a part in Hollyoaks, but the other month, someone else replaced her and she isn't in it anymore.. Does anyone know what happened there?
