The Agency - Reality TV show about the Wilhelmina Modeling Agency

I have to admit, I love the show. I don't watch ANTM because it isn't realistic at all and its getting on my nerves now. The Agency is waaaay better.

I heard a few stuff about the bookers at Wilhelmina. Like Pink, someone told me he is super nice in real person. And that Becky was fired. It could be rumors not sure.

wilhemina (the women's divison) is really screwing themselves over with this show... i don't think anyone will take them all that seriously after this

I agree. The people in the men's division all seem nice and professional though. The Asian man and the main woman actually seem like they're running a business.

I just loved when he told that model to "visualize" while he flipped through his book!

^^ apart from becky the other bookers seem great. it's just a reality tv show after all (with some controversy to keep people watching)

I don't think the whole show is fake or for ratings because the mother of a new model at the agency said in another forum that Becky told her girl to lose about 20 pounds. And the mom went all crazy about it because she said her daughter was fine the way she was. No matter how annoying Becky is she says it like it is. It is true, some girls need to lose sonme weight to book high fashion jobs. I just don't think they know how to find High Fashion girls. Besides, some of the bookers there talk a lot of bull. There is a video that one booker bashes IMG models. If I find it I'll post it

Why would they sign a girl who needed to lose 20 pounds? I highly doubt that any model they signed needed to lose that much weight.

Here is the clip that I was talking about. It looks much better and not too much drama, but at the end one of the booker says how IMG and FORD and Request are sh*tty agencies when I'm asking myself.... IMG has the best woman and men's board what is he talking about?

I'm sorry I think it was 10 pounds. She comes out in the show in the 2nd Episode. She was the winner of the contest.

I finally watched last week's episode tonight and I'm really curious to know which model in the women's division left... but I think that it was bound to happen since it they don't seem to have their act together over there. I do have to agree that it looks like the bookers in the men's division are more professional and are running a real business. Ultimately, it's a reality show so who knows how much is being played up for the cameras (my guess is a lot based on how some of it looks staged IMO)?

Interesting. Though, I do think most people consider their men's board to be even better than IMG's.

Ah, you can so feel the build up to Becky being canned! She's such an obnoxious drunk. I love how she tried to take credit for that girls (Airane? lol,. I can't remember it) when she was the one who was bashing her at her shoot. I sooooo want to see her suck up to that poor girl she treated like sh*t! She deserves to have to kiss her ***.

It's all marketing, I'm sure. There are teenage girls out there now who know who Wilhelmina is, even twenty-somethings, the wannabe models, those who think the industry is like it is on Top Model, those who know the industry inside and out -- someone from all spectrums is pretty much guaranteed to be covered. And, in turn, I can pretty much guarantee that some of those girls will know who Wilhelmina is just because of VH1. It's become a quasi-household name with this show, and if you ask those same girls about IMG, or Women, or Elite, or DNA, they aren't going to know one from the other, much less that they all have women's boards far superior to that of Wilhelmina's. So maybe they aren't building up much of a reputation for themselves in that respect, but they're generating a lot of buzz.

that becky woman has some major issues...
she is crass, obnoxious and a complete embarassment to herself...
i cant believe people can watch her for more than 5 mins...

she absolutely disgusts me....
what a complete joke...

people like that should not be getting their 15mins of fame...
that girl should be ashamed of herself...
go home to her mum and learn some manners...
i dont mind people being blunt and honest....
but that is going way too far....

^^ I honestly HIGHLY doubt that Becky's behavior was "marketing" given that she's no longer with the company! She's gets fired, right? It seems to me like this was a real situation, because if it was just for the cameras, Becky would still likely be working there.

Oh, no, I wasn't talking about Becky specifically! I meant their decision to make the inner-workings of their agency into a show. I agree with you about that, though.
