im just wondering, what are the requirements for a male model?

height, etc...

there are of course exceptions right?

ian somerhalder is only 5'9

freddie ljungberg is only 5'9

sorry i cant say i have, but the 2nd guy looks somewhat familiar. What visible jobs have they done?

and if youre wondering if you could model, the best thing to do would be sending pics or polaraoids of yourself to an agency, if they like you theyll ask you to come in to see them or send them more pics. If they dont think youre suitable they wont reply at all.

im not really wondering if i could model, only a little, more of a interest in how it goes for male models. im only just 17, so college is most important to me anyway.

ian somerhalder:

Mossimo Swimwear for Target 2002
Mossimo for Target 2001
Target "Brown" 2001
Fatale Hair Salon
Guess Fall 1999
Guess Fall 1998
Esprit 1998
Dolce & Gabbana 1998
Claire's Boutiques 1998
Arizona Jeans 1998
American Eagle Outfitters
Persol Eyewear
Request Jeans 1996
Versace Versus Fall/Winter 1995/1996

freddie ljungberg(soccer player for arsenal in england):

Calvin Klein Underwear 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007 (first male who will have done 4 campaigns)

Well, since Freddie is a soccer player he is not a "real" model, therefore the basic requirements of a model dont apply to him.

isn't Ian Somerhalder on LOST now? He has dreamy eyes...

He WAS on Lost, but they killed him off :(
But he was better in Rules of Attraction anyways.

there are exceptions i suppose it depends on how much the like your face or how much they think you'll grow i'm 5'10 and have a 27 inch waist, there are a couple of other guys that are the same hight as me oliver cheshier (sp?) is quite big and he's 5'10

Stan Ripley/ Storm London/ MAJOR NY is only 5'9, but hes only 14 years old as well
but he has been working amazingly, he got a 10 page ed in another man magazine by himself
people love his face so much that the height is something they are prepared to work around

on the flipside, Dragos, who IMO has one of the best faces in the world right now is only 5'11 and didnt book a single show at fashion week but manages to do the best editorial in 10 magazine amoungst others

its best for a guy to be 6'1 or 6'2 to realistically expect to be doing all 3 : editorial campaigns and shows

^ I love Dragos Stoian too :woot:. It' s strange that he doesn' t get to do shows while someone like Olivier Cheshire, who is around 5'9'' does runway all the time. I think having high cheekbones is a great advantage too.

oliver is NOT 5'9, he is about 6 feet actually...

the reason he gets booked for all of those shows like dolce and d squared is because he has a great body. and he is also quite a homo-fantasy type boy so those sort of designers love him

His agency lists him as 5'9''. If anything they should be adding on a few inches rather than taking some off. No?. He looks short on the runway too compared to other models.
