oh i love your avatar, nicole. her cheekbones are to die for!

oh thx:P but i've no idea which one you're referring to
'coz i'm changing my avatar so frequently these days!

What's more popular or looked for by agencies in these days for male models, long hair or short? If long, curly or straight?
Thanks in advance.

imo a good male model is not necessary very tall ( we can see right now that shortie merged on the male model industry ) they can be great as well....Well i think that being tall is not everything and moreover if you're well built. "Sensitive" guy are quite famous right now... i think that it's an equilibrium.

i would agree.

Lots of people seem to be talking about the way shorter models are getting into modelling. So, is there now a height that's too tall to be a (male) model. I've thought about modelling, but i'm somewhere between 6foot2inches and 6foot3inches (the technical skill involved in tape measuring is beyond both me and my friends - that's as accurate as it gets, but i'm definitely somewhere between the two). Is that too tall???

I'm 5'10" (I might have got the "'s confused I tend to do that), and 109 lbs I'm really interested in modeling and I have been for the past year or two. The problem is I dont know how to start. I know that most people my age whether they are a guy or a girl, dont try to do anything that they want to do for the rest of their lives yet. I'm only 15 and I dont have any pictures yet but if anyone can give me advise I'd much rather them do it on a personal level

You can catch me on aim at DxJ dUcKie

PS: I like ducks if you couldnt tell <3

well in theory. you're too tall if you're beyond 6"2 but you know Roc Montandon is really taller than 6'2 and if there're shorties there're must be tallies  i know that the word doesn't exist :innocent:

the younger you start the better it will be. Try maybe a local agency. Don't go on Big agency before and well try to make some photo well 5'10 is not so bad there's a guy in the model industry Oliver Cheshire who is only 5'9 at 18 yrs old or something like this you might grow up a few more so you can still try.

When I get some money to pay for a portfolio theres a photographer that everyone sais is pretty good around here, his name is Gene Ho his website is www.geneho.com and it looks pretty promising. One question though what is a good height for a male model? My brother is 6'4" and is 21 so I might grow a little bit more, but what is the usual heigh for most male models?

chizzled facial features. (for that "strong" look)
rock hard abs.
physique. physique. physique.
Not always. I've noticed Male models are more "skinny" then built these days, you don't see as many hard abs as you used to.

I'm skinny, I have decent abs but thats about it. I'm proud to say I dont have alot of fat on me, though I still am dangerously underweight. :(

Designers will love you. Especially Hedi Slimane, Karl Lagerfeld, Cloak and so on...

both could do..
btw, a short groomed beard is what its hot at the moment,
the media is jumping in the beard trend over here

to be quite honest, to be a male model is probhably the least glamorous job in the fashion world..
unlike girls who are driven around, paid well and often get their own appartments after a year or so, guys have to use public transport like the metro, they dont make much money and usually only break even.

i think you could compare being a male model to being a male escort in a way. they are generally treated as 'sexual' objects by photographers and designers. to be a great male model i think the guy has to be very open and not take himself too seriously but know where to draw the line because of corse, all the gays are going to want a piece and generally male models are straight.

there are exceptions to what ive just said for example guys like mathias L who is so elegant and beautiful that he works non stop in high fashion, but for the majority, its all panties and ***

if you're skinny everything going to be good with you. But don't think that you gonna modelling and you gonna be big in a few times...... that all.

Two words: Ian Somerhalder.

I don't care if I could probably kick his ***, he is incredibly wonderfully gorgeous.

Hi guys, dont know if this thread is still alive, but i saw little duck's post and i've always wanted to ask the same questions.
I live in australia, so prob a bit harder to brake into the modeling, i'm 183cm and weigh 81kg, been hitting the gym hard 2 years, up from 67kg, i got a 110cm chest, 81cm waist, but the abs aint out yet coz i still got fat covering it to help my training, should be able to get the waist down to a 79. Abs are a nice large size (sitting under the gut) and i should be able to get them out in 1-2 months.
I got wide shoulders, big chest, nice V shape, fairly square chiseled jaw, nose is a bit fat :( and i've had the shortly trimmed bear going for years since i saw the picture of will chalker lying on a couch with the scotch + cigarette (what a gun).
And someone said something about wanting guys with brains, well i got a 93 in my year 12 and study engineering.
If anyone knows a thing or two, i can send some pics, give me a verdict, i'd rather not post pics on a forum.

Thanks

-Preferably over 5'11 (but Travis Fimmel and Oliver Cheshire are shorter)

-A strong look (be it a strong soft look, like Boyd Holbrook or Jarod Branch, or a strong masculine look, like Marios Lekkas as Tyson Ballou)

- Be sexy... while todays female models are on the wierd looking side, male models always seem to be conventionally good looking guys

true:rolleyes:
i dont know much about male models..not like i know alot about female models...but i think what you said made sense.
but i think to get your pictures taken...it would be all worth a while when they are 70 or 80 years old...remembering the good ol' days when they had an *** and some packs.
