I think Jack Brennan is absolutely beautiful. He looks like he has an eating disorder for sure though. Stuffs his beautiful mouth and....

Lol that Jack fellow goes to university with me...would you have ever thought he was a physicist? Always dresses very well, in phenomenally skinny jeans usually. One of my friends at uni is currently part of the a/w 05 campaign for Dior Homme...he bumped into Hedi whilst in Notting Hill, the rest is history as they say...

I think that the new faces that are to come of Men's Fashion will be strong, wise male archetypes.
Personally, i believe that Men's Fashion is in an evolutionary period. It's been dominated by the stereotypical gay-man's ideal, but with straight men becoming more interested in "the finer [/more expensive] things in life," the fashion industry is heading back to the mentality of women's fashion 40 years ago. What i'm saying is that Men's Fashion is putting less weight on young "eye candy," and now looking to be fronted by a more intelligent, respectable image, that when men see they want to emulate those masculine ideals.
This theory is not only based on the men who affect this particular branch of The Fashion Industry, but also the women who influence men's decisions [i.e. the girlfriend, the wife and, yes, even the mother]; when was the last time that you heard a women say, "I'm looking to date/ marry a 15-year-old boy!"? Women will always want a man who can maintain strength, protection and well-being even if their feminist instincts attempt to reject this.
Yes, there will always be the young boys in various high- and mainstream-standard advertisements, but slowly there is a shift in the commercial man.

Why are gay men typically into young boys?

Probably because the stereotypical gay male has a Peter-Pan syndrome. By indulging in the image of a young boy, they long for the beauty of youth to last forever. A desireable version of the Looking-Glass Self. This isn't exclusive to the gay male, just more overt and something that is, evidently, more affecting in the collective, gay-male subculture. This is just an observation, and i suppose bias [in a neutrally accepting way].
We all may not want to be as predictable as a stereotype, but in one way -- or Many ways -- we are connected by stereotypes, which is a reason that empathy and sympathy exists.

well i wouldn't say "typical." i've met some who would get mad seeing a guy so young in magazines or on the street. they prefer the larger older type

^well being a 17 year old male I can say that it is extremely creepy to be looked at by older gay men when out and about. So for all you older gay men out there...quit it, its creepy.

i'm 18 and it's nice to see young people representing on the runway, i gravitate toward teenage models because they seem to convey an attitude less "macho" and "safe" i find that on the runways ie: dh, raf simons...the models are very unique looking and that's something that should be celebrated, the different or other aspect of masculinity...:flower: ...a little angst and vulnerability...like james dean^_^

young people look fresher- fact
young models will always rule the runway

^^^ very true, but i kinda like the older look, especially on boyd holbrook - he looked much hotter in that magazine interview with Omahyra than he did say in the Dior campaign

Did any of you see the article on James Bond inspired menswear in today New York Times Sunday Styles section? It's chock full of both boys and men.

I have always been excited about clothes that are neither male, nor female by design, just made for a specific bodytype. So naturally, I would always go for less mannish, more androgynously built models. I like the fact that they have no curves at all, most of the boys at Dior Homme for example, could wear women´s prèt á porter by measurements, as well as the other way around with a female model.

Oh hun, enjoy it while it lasts.......take it as a complement. When you're old and wrinkled, and butt ugly, you can look back in time and cherish that memory, that another human being find you attractive!!!!

Do these male models have to wax their chests...none of them have hair on their bodies...??

Yup! But I believe they only do it for some shows, waxing isn't a pleasant thing to do. But I do believe they have a set of facial and body routine that they follow strictly!!!
