Okay,taking a cue from Helena's excellent post...

Do you all think that perhaps the lady herself would rather see that radical spirit or somebody who can just keep the house going? Personally,I think she would rather see somebody embrace the same approach and spirit as she did;the person who's capable a making people re-evaluate their perceptions.

I think that would be nice, but I don't think that will happen now that Chanel is so established.

Anne Valerie Hash or Bruno would be really nice as well.

great article, bird. what he says makes sense about his clothes. i can relate to the attraction to 'dumb' quirky stuff that's a little off like pigeon toes. he sounds 'simple' but i think he came off as insightful.

I personally think Jil Sander would be an extremely interesting choice for Chanel, though it will never happen.

MY GOD... how come I never considered this??? She would definitely be THE BEST choice so far... :woot:

I'm not sure wether Sander would be great for Chanel. Somehow I feel she is too much a minimalist to be appointed at Chanel (couture and pap alike) If Kaiser is to leave anytime soon, I surely hope that Marc Jacobs will not take over. Looking at what he does for Vuitton, he might be good for it - sans monogrammed LV mink scarfs etc. - but I think that Chanel is better suited with someone with more of a coutury approach to fashion. The fact that his signature lines are - to me - on the edge of "are-they-commercial-or-creative?" takes a bit of Jacobs' couture away. I prefer someone like Anne-Valerie Hash, or Nicholas Ghesquire for that matter. Especially Anne-Valerie, but Nicholas too, have more of a coutury vibe to them, which makes them suitable for Chanel. And definetly more suitable than Marc...

My 2 cents! :flower:
