Well, I guess I'm crazy but I see Chanel but more "ironic". The pastel tweeds, the black bows, the pearls, LBDs, the black piping. Maybe the styling of the hair and florals referenced older Chanel shows for me? But that being said, I really like this collection.

I see Chanel for sure, as well as Rodarte (I'm pretty sure that pink flower dress with black bow is an almost identical knock-off).

Overall I am a little let down. I do love the long pink look on Lily D, the flower dress on Chanel, and the sequin-look on Catherine McNeil. However, this is such a radical departure from F/W, and I really dislike how schizo that change was from very polished and elegant to funky and quirky again. I would have liked to see Marc continue his F/W ideas into a spring collection.

I agree with Jacque Marcel, I see a little Chanel. I'm also seeing a lot of influences from s/s 07 and f/w 07.08... this collection kind of seems like a big mash-up of everything. I like a lot of the pieces individually though, and the set is great!

There's some rodarte, some comme, some chanel, some miu miu, it's marc, what else do you expect?

His jerry mcguire "show me the money!" expression is pretty funny.

Some of this looks a little bulky- even on the models. I do, however, love some of the draped looks, especially the pink dress on Lily (Roland Mouret S/S 06 anyone ) and the green top/white shorts combo. Overall, I find the collection quite jumbled but there are definately some gems amongst the madness.

The collection will probably make more sense once you see the entire thing, although I too was confused by the number dresses, as they looked a bit cheap. One thing that was interesting was that some of the girls' shoes were too small for them, but when I re-read the program notes they are noted as "Patent too small pump" for example

I think they were meant to look that way (obviously, as you pointed out!), but not just in the sense that he was going to put, say, Stam in pumps that were too small. I was looking at the HQ's and it looks like one big wedge inside the shoe, so the foot just sits on top! I think it's kind of a clever idea, actually...

Yes they fit so the models heel was hanging out the back... their feet had to be literally glued into the shoes in order for the models to be able to walk!

And no Meghan Collison!!!
