theage.com.auAustralian actress Margot Robbie will follow up her breakthrough performance in the Martin Scorsese film The Wolf of Wall Street with a starring role in the highly anticipated film Z For Zachariah.
The deal was finalised in Los Angeles on Sunday.
It confirms the 23-year-old former star of the long-running drama series Neighbours as one of Hollywood's hottest emerging properties.
Z For Zachariah is directed by Craig Zobel and also stars Star Trek actor Chris Pine and 12 Years A Slave's Chiwetel Ejiofor.
It is based on the Robert C. O’Brien novel of the same name.
Robbie is replacing actress Amanda Seyfried who had been signed to the film, but has bowed out.

She looks so much like Emma Stone on this last picture
Vanity Fair March 2014: Hollywood Issue.
I'd love to see her styled like that for the Oscars...She's made quite a name for herself thanks to her role in the critically-acclaimed flick "The Wolf of Wall Street," and now Margot Robbie opens up about her experience on the set in March 2014 issue of ELLE Australia magazine.
During her interview, the 23-year-old actress opened up about her scary audition with Leonardo DiCaprio and chatted about her family seeing the Oscar-nominated film.
Highlights from Miss Robbie's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to ELLE Australia!
On her audition and Leo's improving:
"He got momentum like you wouldn't believe. He's off and running, and I'm sitting there like a stunned mullet, thinking, 'You've got 30 seconds left in this room to do something impressive.' I think every swear word in my head just started screaming at him. When I walked over like I was about to kiss and I go... [slap] reality washed over me. 'Oh my God, you just assaulted Leonardo DiCaprio. They're going to arrest you now.'"
On her stance on nudity scenes:
"I lied for a long time about the nudity. First, I said there was no nudity. Then I said there was nudity, but it wasn't me, that it was a body double with my head CGI's on, saying, 'It's crazy what they can do with computers!' Then I had to admit it was me."
On her family's reaction to the film:
"The grandparents flat out can't see [the film]. The rest of the family can watch at their own risk, but if we can't have a relationship after that, it's not my fault. If they can make it to the films final act, they'll see a more shocking side to their little girl in a climatic fight scene between Jordan and Naomi."
On her acting career:
"I say this about everything: When I was on 'Neighbors,' I said, 'These are the best years of my life!' When I was filming 'The Wolf of Wall Street,' I said, 'These are the best months of my life!' I always think I'm having the best time ever, and that I'll never have so much again."
eonlineIs Margot Robbie no longer a single woman?
The Wolf of Wall Street star has been spotted cuddling up to a handsome young man named Henry Aitken while shooting her next project in New Zealand, where Aitken works in the film's art department.
But this seems to have already surpassed the sweet crush stage and gone to something a little more serious, because Aitken has changed his Facebook profile picture to a snapshot of him with a woman who looks to be Robbie being camera shy behind his shoulder.
The main point is she made it to his Facebook profile picture. That's a big deal, you guys.
Margot was also photographed giving her rumored beau an adoring look while working on the post-apocalyptic drama Z For Zachariah, which also stars Chris Pine and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
E! News was surprised to find out that the starlet was unattached while talking to the beauty at the Golden Globe Awards, and even mores stunned to find out that the celeb was looking for someone who didn't share her same career path.
"No, I don't really wanna date an actor, so this probably isn't the night I'm gonna find someone," she told us that evening.
Well, Aitken is not an actor but he is in the industry. His Facebook page says he now lives in Auckland and studied at the New Zealand Film and Television School. He is the art director for multimedia production company Sakowski Studios, has a profile on modeling and talent agency Ican's website and has also worked on feature movies as well as short films and documentaries.
Seems kinda perfect, right?!
