Based on the assessment of @yslforever , if she and LVMH can reach an agreement of early leave, it will definitely save them more money for cancelling the shows that nobody asks for. The bonus for us is probably she can make enough money from the settlement so she can happily retire from fashion. It is a win win situation for both parties involved.

I wonder why they suddenly piss her off because everything seems very planned. I would believe the rumor that she wanted to go to Gucci but LVMH people blocked her chance with a non-compete agreement that Gucci could not afford to wait any longer, which led to the deteriorated situation between both parties and Demna's surprising move to Gucci. The fact that Matt started working at Chanel makes me feel that she overestimates her long-term amicable partnership with LVMH that she thought they would let her go somewhere else without a non-compete agreement.

I think adding a successful tenure at Dior on her resume would not allow her to work for lesser brands. We all don't have high opinions of her work here, but management would think differently as long as she can sell. She is one of those designers with subsequent success like Hedi and Philo.

I mean where can you go next after Dior? I think Fendi is big enough but god forbid, don't let her inside Fendi. I don't know if LVMH would want to expand smaller brands like Pucci. I can see her there doing things. But I think the market has shifted so much. Now people also crave fantasy and craftsmanship. There are more middle-priced well made brands too. Great places to go for basics. Her design language couldn't expand or evolve enough it became very repetitive and uninspiring. Retirement sounds like a great plan.

I for one don't mind her going to Hermès. It would fit her in a way as fashion is someone of an afterthought there by now. But she's not French so they maybe won't hire her I think someone said. I think maybe she needs an Italian house like Ferragamo at the end of the day.
