Marilyn Monroe #1

That's maybe one of my all-time favourite books. It's just amazing, I can't figure out any other word. I feel bad when I read it, it's gripping. The reader feels like she is Marilyn.

I get what you are saying, Marilyn is very underrated. People see her as the blonde bombshell, nothing else. She was great, but I'm not sure where her career would have gone if she wouldn't have died so early.

Btw, thanks Emil for posting those pictures, I got the idea to my username from those.

Blonde and so on

I'm so happy to read that you love Blonde beacause I have mostly read bad comments about it. One thing that makes me happy is to see that so many female celebrities (and probably non celebrities women is insprired by her style in hair, makeup and fashion. Like Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Madonna, Scarlett Johansson and so on. I know it probably irritates some of you but I don't see anything wrong about it as long as they don't do it in a mean way. I wanna bleach/colour my hair platinum blonde mainly beacause of her. And it is also beacause I think it's the most beautiful hair colour.
I love the 50's fashion among women clothes they looked so beautiful and innoncent in my opinon.

Marilyn Monroe inspires me to read more classic books and poetry.
I learned a lot from her about life and people.

I like that colour so much too and it is not that these celebs annoy me or smth, they just can't call themselves "i am the new Marilyn" or smth...that irritates me!Sure i love blondes...but prefer male ones haha

Thanks Emil! She looks stunning in the second one but i didn't like the first one, dunno why:)

I'm actually annoyed by those celebrities who take their fashion inspiration from her, because they end up looking tacky. But I have no problem with Marilyn being so popular!

The one and only Miss Monroe!

I like these one!

Gosh...just a hand touch!!!How can she look this magical?!She must b from another galaxy or so lol

Yes,she really is magical wheter on film or in photos!I love the first one she looks so effortlesly beautiful in white pants and shirt!Simply beautiful!

I must say that I disagree with you WhineLinen even though you are allowed to think that of course. I think they look great!
And I wanna do it to, be inspired by her style. I love that combination of platinum blonde hair and superpale porcelain skin. And I would and gonna really try to achieve that with the help of a hairstylist and beauty products. But I would not walk around and think that I was Marilyn Monroe or anything.
I don't believe anyone can be the new Marilyn. Everybody are unique.
Gwen, Christina, Scarlett and so on all resemble Marilyn to me a lot I guess beacause they really try to look like her beacause they have her as an idol. Or atleast I know Christina and Gwen has it.
For example Gwen has haid that platinum blonde hair always was her fantasty hair colour and that she was obsessed with Marilyn Monroe and Jean Harlow.
And that her room was covered with Marilyn Monroe posters.
Christina said in a Fanatic interview that the one person of all times she would love to eat dinner with was Marilyn Monroe. And that she was a timeless legend/beauty or something like that.
It actually makes me happy to read and hear that.

Thanks Emil for the great pics. :flower: What I love about Marylin is her voice. I agree that she was a really good actress and made some good films but what I prefer are her songs. The song "the river of no return" is one of my favourite!

I recently read The Secret Memoirs of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis by Ruth Francisco,it's fictional, but amazing.there are some parts with Marilyn, like when she calls the White House to talk to "Jack" and Jackie talks to her instead.Jackie is aware of all his affairs and he breaks it off with Marilyn but then Bobby gets involved with her...eventually she dies, and it seems like,at times, that the Kennedys had her killed.there was so much that was hidden about that administration."that poor woman" as Jackie calls her in the book.I also read the book by her sister that ws interesting, and another one I got earlier this year called Marilyn A biography by Norman Mailer which is so amazingly written.

she is just magical.her laugh was so melodious,so delicate.i think many people don't understand why she is a legend.she had her own reason for that.she made you want to love her, take care of her.her sensitivity came across so easily.

Just wonderful :crush: Josephine- thank you for posting these- I already gave you karma for your Sharon Tate ones so can't give you more but thanks.
