I hate it.

I’ve been pretty on board with his Marni so far...it’s been charming and interesting and funny but with genuinely challenging and complex construction and make.

However, this is really just ugly and the goth references are so cheap. Like Hot Topic.

I’m actually quite tired of subculture obsession in fashion as the go-to for instant cool cred....punk, goth, skinhead, club-kid, etc. etc. These are not fresh references and any edge these subcultures once possessed as an inspiration point has long been scrubbed clean within fashion. Let’s move on.

Although Margiela and Marni begin with the same letter, it seems Francesco Risso can´t help mistake one for the other.

Yes, you can play with deconstruction here if you like...but please, make it look like Marni in the end.

There's nothing Marni about this collection and it's just a weak offering but I really hate the idea of Risso at Marni at this point. He just doesn't care about the atmosphere of the brand and just makes some EDGY and COOL stuff that is not appealing in any way.

It would be bad even if it had been showed during the NYFW and that says everything.

Wtf?! Did Demna design this collection? There is absolutely nothing Marni about this. As a matter of fact, it doesn’t even look like the same designer. All of his previous collections have been cohesive and very faithful to the dna of the house. This collection is playing copycat. Im very disappointed. I’ve been fan of his work for the house because of its originality and artisanal quality. This is the complete opposite. It’s very mainstream and lazy. I’m not suprised it flopped. Just look at what he’s wearing. He looks like a clown. I would have never assoisated that shade of red with Marni. It’s too moody and out of character. Now that we already got a Balenciaga show it will be interesting to see what the real deal will do.

- it has zero to do with marni.
- the fabrics look cheap
- the colors really aggravate me, red, black and white!?
- this is nothing new nor innovative, he’s just drilling down a really beautiful brand that people including myself loved buying. Marni had actual clothes you could would wear.

His fantasies on the runway should best be let private.

While it doesn't have much to do with the Marni we all knew and loved, I actually like this a lot. I hated Risso's first collection but I've somehow become a fan of his work.

On a side note, Wintour would wear 90% of this.
